I work for a relatively small tax firm in CA, about 15 employees. I don't have access to our books, but I think the partners take about $150-200k each in salaries. I know the managing partner's total compensation is north of $350k, but his salary is not that high. In smaller firms its common for partners to have their salary in the $100-200k range but they basically live off the business. Its Big 4 and other larger firms where the partners have that $300-500k salaries.

Ive heard that partners at my firm make around 1 million annually. Not sure if that's true.

I don't know because the wife might find it insulting paying her to keep the couple's check book balanced : )
