I am so sorry in advance for this juvenile rant/post BUT I really need to get this off my chest about a co-worker who has no clue what A71 is and will never read this! 😉

I’m not sure if this person has IBS or some other medical condition to cause this situation but it’s reached a point of near mutiny at my office and I need to rant…this person is constantly passing awful and disgusting gas in their office. To the point where you feel yourself becoming nauseous if you have to go in there for too long. The odor is simply horrendous and it’s becoming a daily occurrence. It’s seriously horrible and everyone keeps complaining to me about this person on a daily basis. Granted, I am generally the person in our firm to deliver news about office decorum compliance BUT it’s not like you can just walk up to a person and tell them to stop crapping in their pants on company PP&E! 😉

I’ve instructed everyone to act like adults, to ignore the behavior, to consider that a medical issue may be in play, and scolded people for gossiping about it…but off the record I’m just as grossed out as everyone else!!!! There really is nothing to do but pretend like it’s not happening…it’s the only professional thing to do…but come on, man!

    Rant over.

@Lilla – I would suggest refreshing yourself once a day everyday since you do not know when it occurs. They have all sorts of feminine products (pantyliners, wipes, etc) out now that are discrete and portable so no one but you will know. I would also go to another doctor to see if they have any other suggestions. Also check your diet, are you drinking enough water? Eating enough fruits and veggies? Eating out too much? Use a food log or calorie counter to track what you eat to see if you can see any correlation to when the odor occurs and to see what you're putting in your body.

And I wouldn't say its TMI, have you see the thread about the people wearing adult diapers to their exams? LOL

Oh wow, yeah that's quite the situation you have on your hands there. Sorry that your “lady business” is stinking up the office sometimes…I know that must be a mortifying situation for you…especially if you can't smell it yourself. Hmm well what I would do is make best friends with someone at the office and ask them to be your spot check buddy. Sounds weird, but I work with a guy who's become a lot like a brother to me. If I was stinky, he'd let me know in a heartbeat. The buddy system never fails! Well whatever it is, I hope it all gets sorted out! Good luck!

I had a dance teacher who lost her sense of smell during a childhood sickness, and she occasionally (rarely) had underarm odor and was not aware of it.

I would suggest showering before and after work, and using deodorant, whether you think you need it or not.

Is there a door to her office that you can close? If her “medical condition” is affecting other peoples performance maybe you can have her work in a tent or something. Or maybe you can relocate the office without telling her, and hope that she doesn't find you guys. Get an industrial fan pointed at her desk and open a window behind her. Or when ever she farts everyone in the office can put those face masks on that painters use until she gets the message. You could come up with a no farting policy and write her up for non compliance. Electric zapper in her seat would work also, or really loud horn. There are plenty of reasonable solutions to this problem.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

    @ kitty

Well, to be fair, I have no idea what “feminine odor” is, nor am I even curious to learn. I'm just trying to be helpful.

And I admire someone who holds-off his own emissions long enough to be able to smell those of others 🙂

    Otherwise, how are you 🙂

In a serious need of man's help! Got an elliptical and tried to put it together. Had to stop half way because those screws are way too tight for my …non-existent muscles…. Otherwise, I'm doing great! 🙂

Not sure what even an elliptical is. Some kind of fixed exercise machine I suppose. I stick with yoga floor exercises myself. Less complicated that way.

Can't really help you on the man front due to school and the CMA/CPA stuff.

Did you find a seasonal tax job?
