I am so sorry in advance for this juvenile rant/post BUT I really need to get this off my chest about a co-worker who has no clue what A71 is and will never read this! 😉

I’m not sure if this person has IBS or some other medical condition to cause this situation but it’s reached a point of near mutiny at my office and I need to rant…this person is constantly passing awful and disgusting gas in their office. To the point where you feel yourself becoming nauseous if you have to go in there for too long. The odor is simply horrendous and it’s becoming a daily occurrence. It’s seriously horrible and everyone keeps complaining to me about this person on a daily basis. Granted, I am generally the person in our firm to deliver news about office decorum compliance BUT it’s not like you can just walk up to a person and tell them to stop crapping in their pants on company PP&E! 😉

I’ve instructed everyone to act like adults, to ignore the behavior, to consider that a medical issue may be in play, and scolded people for gossiping about it…but off the record I’m just as grossed out as everyone else!!!! There really is nothing to do but pretend like it’s not happening…it’s the only professional thing to do…but come on, man!

    Rant over.

Did you know the human body was capable of farting, sleeping and snoring at the same time? I know this because the bosses daughter has done this on numerous occasions. I don't know which is worse, the gas, the seriously nasty smelling weight loss meals cooking in the microwave that cause the gas, or the fact that she is sleeping at work. So far no toenails or tooth brushing, but does flossing count? Because I've seen that one too and, well, I can't go on without getting sick to my stomach. Sounds like you handled it well, Mints. I usually just put in my headphones, crank up the music, and pray for the air freshener to hurry up and spray already! Oh, did I mention that there are no separate offices and no cubicles. All of this is taking place just feet from the front door. Hmmm, I'm the boss now!!! What to do? What to do?

This post was great, in a I feel horrible and sympathize with all of you. This post made me laugh this morning which is always a good way to start the day!

Wait to go MINTS on how you handled that way better then i could have that's for sure, i am not sure i would have last the 2 and a half weeks with it going on.

I also hate tooth brushing in a public restroom, but I know some people need to do it during the work day, but there are 5 sinks why do you use the middle one? Go to the far end, I don't want to see you brush your teeth and I sure don't want to be forced to wash my hands next to you. Flossing at your desk is also gross I actually asked someone to please go to the bathroom the next time, it has things flying ever where and its not something I want to see at work.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Hahaha I've really enjoyed reading over all of these posts! 🙂

But at the same time…I'm afraid I might be “that girl” in our office. 😐 My nose is pretty much useless, so if I stink, I don't know it till I get home in the evening and my boyfriend sweetly informs me of the fact that I can be smelled a mile away. It's not every day, nor is it predictable, so I don't know how to anticipate it and address it. Once I become aware of the problem, I can address it, but that's long after I'm home from work.

Anyone have any ideas of how to know you stink without someone telling you? (Note that this is not issues like failing to use deodorant or to shower, nor farts [cause you can't help but know when you have those lol] – this is odors that come about randomly.) If I smell myself, I go to the bathroom and spray Febreeze No Odor on my pants, and that seems to catch any smells before they escape. Or at least enough that my nose doesn't detect them anymore. But…my coworkers are too polite to say something, so I don't know what to do! Can't just spray myself with Febreze multiple times every day for a once-every-couple-weeks type issue, but since I can't figure out what causes the issues, it's hard to prevent them. And I know that by the time my nose detects issues, my coworkers have been silently suffering for awhile. 😐

    @Lilla – you trollin' ?? haha

Bath regularly, wash your clothes, brush your teeth, use deodorant and perfume, and you should be set for the next 8-9 hours. Also know that if you eat certain foods, that can cause you to stink…

And if you're really unsure- bring an extra stick of deodorant or extra perfume to work.

DONT USE FEBREZE!! You'll smell like a bathroom hahaha

I'm not trolling and this isn't a deodorant issue. It's I think best described as “feminine odor”, but it's not related to the time of the month. I haven't noticed any correlation to foods that I eat etc…so I'm kinda at a loss. Maybe that's TMI though. 😐

    P. S. And I have been to the doctor – they took tests, said they'd call me if there was anything out of the ordinary, and it all came back clear, so they had no further suggestions.

@Lilla – Go back to the doctor or find another doctor! This sounds like a problem that could potentially be a bad one. If the first doctor doesn't find the answer, then maybe they didn't run the right test. I've found that you have to stand up for yourself when it comes to doctors because they don't know everything and they will NEVER admit that. My surgeon wanted to put off my thyroidectomy for 6 months. I said NO! It's coming out tomorrow! He told my husband I scared the hell out of him. I'm sure now he's glad I did that because the cancer was pretty aggressive and I may not have made it 6 months. Just to put things in perspective, I had one 1cm tumor in October 2012 and by April 2013, the original tumor was 5cm, there were multiple between 3cm and 5cm, and there were too many between 1cm and 3cm to count. They just called it “multiple”. The cancer had “extended beyond the thyroid to an unknown degree.” Don't you just love the way doctors talk? How would they like it if we told them they “owed taxes in an unknown amount”? LOL

@Lilla – I would suggest refreshing yourself once a day everyday since you do not know when it occurs. They have all sorts of feminine products (pantyliners, wipes, etc) out now that are discrete and portable so no one but you will know. I would also go to another doctor to see if they have any other suggestions. Also check your diet, are you drinking enough water? Eating enough fruits and veggies? Eating out too much? Use a food log or calorie counter to track what you eat to see if you can see any correlation to when the odor occurs and to see what you're putting in your body.

And I wouldn't say its TMI, have you see the thread about the people wearing adult diapers to their exams? LOL
