Hey guys, I’m considering subscribing to the WSJ to keep abreast of events in the business world. Would anyone who is subscribed be willing to share their experiences and whether or not it is worth it?

Most of the info from WSJ, you can get from other financial websites like Marketwatch which is owned by WSJ, CNN.MONEY, Forbes.com, Business Insiders, Motley Fool, and etc.

Agree with Skynet. Don't pay that crazy subscription price for that publication when you can get most of all of that info free elsewhere. If you are a partner in a firm that can write it off as a business expense, that's another story – but if it's your personal money you're spending on that, I would not do it.

Its up to you, if you don't mind spending the money that's fine, if you can get the student discount it is very inexpensive. But its news, so you can get a lot of the same elsewhere as others have said.

I personally subscribe to the economist instead, 1 magazine a week is easier to read and it covers a lot of stuff from a global perspective.

There's a site where you can do a few surveys to get a free online subscription of it, as well as other magazines. I'm not sure if it's allowed to post links though. The surveys take less than 3 minutes and you don't really have to give any information besides your email out.

I am the same as Thrawn with the Economist but it has gone by the wayside with studying. It gives you a broad appeal across the world instead of just business.

Also check out Seeking Alpha website. Really helpful. I love that. I can make my own portfolio of stocks I want to keep track and it also shows the qtrly results, annual results along with 10K, and 10Q reports, and transcripts (audio and written) from those meetings. Blogs from different writers. Really nice website. They have an app as well.

rewardsummary.com or something like that – I do one survey a week to get “20 bucks” and I am saving them for when I see something I want

    YES.

Well worth the money. I have never read a more insightful publication and you get it DAILY. The Economist magazine charges just as much and it is a monthly magazine.
