    Hi all,

I recently got an offer from one of the Big 4 in Houston for a full-time assurance associate starting next fall. I will complete 150 hours when I graduate in May 2016. The offer letter states that the offer is “contingent upon, among other things, your completing, prior to starting at the Firm, the 150 credit hour educational requirement needed to obtain a CPA license in Texas, or providing documentation satisfactory to the Firm, also prior to your start date, that you are able to obtain your CPA license in Texas through reciprocity based on either a CPA license held, or CPA exam passed, in another

    state.”

I have taken an ethics course at my university BUT it is not included in the Texas’ list of ethics courses. Texas requires that the candidate take an ethics course before they can sit for the CPA. Will the Big 4 deny me the job?

Since I will graduate in May and will be qualified to take the CPA in my state (150 hours), should I take the exam during the summer (hopefully I pass) and transfer the score to Texas? OR What should I do?

I really want this job at the Big 4 and feel like TSBPA may cause me to lose the job.

If you have any other tips, PLEASE SHARE.
