    @mini

    Whitney Houston was pretty pathetic. She was successful AND A MOTHER but chose to throw her life away and essentially leave her daughter without any parents. When Michael Jackson died, she had an interview with Oprah and said how his death hit close to home, how she was going to change her ways, yada yada

    The fact that she was rich and successful doesnt make her death from drugs any less pointless and ridiculous, especially since she's had this problem for decades and did nothing about it.

    Was I a little insensitive? Yes but the way this talented woman threw her life away really makes me upset.

    I heard a very deep saying the other day about drug addicts. The woman said yes, we choose to try drugs the first time but once that first choice is made its no longer a choice.

    While I would like to think that the treatments she had at her disposal would have worked, I didn't walk in her shoes. And it has nothing to do with her fame, fortune, or talent. I know plenty of people who have addiction issues and while I would do anything at all to force them into treatment I only feel pity for them, not the need to judge.

    Wow… It must be nice up there on your high horse, goodluck.

    You can never know exactly what another person is experiencing, even if you have gone through the exact same thing. Everyone's perception is different. Addiction is a terrible thing and it doesn't make someone a bad/lesser person if they can't kick an addiction. This is a tragedy, just like anyone else dying so young would be a tragedy. Even more so because she could have had everything, but this addiction took it all away from her, and eventually took her life. She couldn't, for whatever reason, stop the cycle. It's very sad.

    @goodluck…I remember I read an article years ago about a story/gossip on Whitney Houston. She was very demanding while she was on top of her career. While taking a photo shot for a magazine cover, she requested the water she drinks need to in certain temperature, and the cake should be cut in certain angle. Do I like her as person? probably no. But I do think she has a beautiful and powerful voice which she left behind for people to admire for many many years to come. If I walk pass by a celebrity on the street, I would just keep walking…but there are LOTS of people are just into star worshipping. You and I are everyday people who trying to pass this d*** CPA exam to make our life better. We have never been in a situation wherever you go your appearance will cause a celebration. If you live in that bubble where people saying you are the god, eventually you will believe you are the god and surely you will act like one. I was surprised to learn the news, but in few minutes later I was back to chapter 8, my government accounting. My point is she is dead…lets remember her in a good way and move on. It's like you passing your BEC, you let it go and move on to the next beast.
