Anyone preparing for it? I am in Boston and plan on getting some bottled water tonight. Hopefully it won’t be that bad here, maybe heavy rain and strong wind. I feel so alone! My husband is out of town until mid-November. I’m kinda scared. 🙁

I am curious if the testing window will be extended for those affected by the storm. Any thoughts?

Yeah…mine is tomorrow at 1pm EST, but since they haven't closed the Brooklyn testing center yet, Prometric said that I would have to reschedule for a fee…I told them…there is a state of emergency in NY..we have no power for 3 days to a week, the subway is flooded, and I think they just started limited bus service..nevermind trying to review in the dark. She said to call Nasba…but Nasba said customer care center was only for Nasba states, so to call IL (I'm an IL candidate living in NYC)…the IL Board contacted Nasba on my behalf yesterday and I just checked this morning but IL still has no word. I think this is the waiting game for all of us.

rmm I tend to doubt they will extend the testing window, the reason they've done so in the past is because the storm/hurricane fell during the last few days of a window and it would not have been possible to reschedule before the window closed. Trust me that those hit by this storm have my utmost empathy, but I can't see any reason someone might not be able to reschedule before Nov 30. Hurricane Isaac hit on Aug 29 and they extended the window a week, I believe. So a week out from this storm is still within the window.

I signed up just to reply to this. I got canceled in DC on Monday and tried to reschedule and none of the tests sites have any open dates for me until January. So yes they might not be able to fit you in.

Update: The Virginia Board has said they are talking to NASBA and that I am not the only one having trouble scheduling and will just get worse once New York and New Jersey get back into the fold.

This was not a typical hurricane like one back in August and November is pretty booked everywhere.

Only reason I mentioned it is because I thought last year with the ice storm on Halloween the window was extended. Just wishful thinking 😉 I was without power for a few days just got it back recently but happy to be back to normal!

@mla1169 – November is pretty much booked solid from what I've seen. That makes it next to impossible to reschedule for the testing centers that were closed. Extending the window will add additional appointments to make up for the ones that were canceled.

I'M ALIVE!!! Hoboken has no power for 7-10 more days. All mass transit is out and the PATH is shut down for 7-10 days as well. The only way out is by car (which I don't have) or ferry into Manhattan. So I will be living it up on the UWS until power is restored.

As awful as it is to be a refugee for a few days, at least it took my mind off of score release on Friday.

Please dont get me wrong, I hope everybody planning to sit on this window is able to do so. I'm just not convinced the AICPA is as benevolent.
