ParticipantGood Morning all!
I struggle with what I should eat for a snack while studying. I usually default to Swiss Roll Cakes, 1 dollar burgers, etc…. Then I find that I have less energy than if I would have no snack.
What do you snack on during a study session?

ParticipantJust plenty of fruits. I am not really a type of nuts person.
I usually eat something that will cause me “a bit ” of time to finish, like oranges. This way, I extend my time enjoying the food (having fun peeling and slicing) while I can continue crack down the book or TB. Reading the book / computer is boring and eating something I like keep my mood up.
On days that I really don't want to study, I give myself a piece of cookie to push up my blood sugar. I reward myself a piece of cookie every 30 question or so (as many as I can do without cracking up).
I think I am really lucky in this topic. I don't have to worry about crashing my blood sugar or gaining weight. I am exactly the opposite, I am always low on blood sugar, semi-low on blood pressure, and underweight…

ParticipantYours truly has subsided on the following over the last year and change months:
– gallons of coffee per week. freshly ground beans straight into pour over device = max ulcer creating power
– truckloads of organic baby carrots
– pounds upon pounds of pita chips
– countless bowls of Chipotle
recently, now that CPA prep is winding down, I'm have time to cook and get out and exercise: kale salads and protein shakes (toss banana and oatmeal into that sucker and its filling).
Good coffee is key, IMO. This guy and a grinder will ensure NOTHING stands between you and months of steady, blissful caffeine uptake: https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/frieling-coffee-for-one?gdftrk=gdfV25576_a_7c1994_a_7c7459_a_7cCSC591A0020&gclid=CJLTwrn0mL4CFW4V7AodZSYAwg
pro tip: don't eat too many baby carrots if you put a lot of milk in your coffee, you'll want to heave and I cannot endorse the consumption of an entire bag with coffee.

MemberI really try to cut down on my sugar/junk food. I can actually notice how sluggish I feel if I eat a bunch of candy, cookies and fast food. I try to eat lots of veggies- those freezer steamfresh bags of broccoli are great plus a baked potato and sour cream and a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store (over a few days) is one of my main go to meals when I'm really busy. I have actually been making myself breakfast over the last week which seems to help me focus in the morning- two soft boiled eggs and an English muffin.
As far as snacks go, I eat hummus and pita chips a lot. I love those baked snap pea crisps too. I'm allergic to nuts so no almonds or trail mix for me! Smoothies are great, especially if you add a couple handfuls of spinach. I love cereal so I'll have a bowl of Special K while I'm studying sometimes too 🙂
A couple of week ago, I started going to the gym pretty consistently (sans study material) and have actually noticed a huge improvement in my ability to comprehend study material. I think that along with eating healthy, that's been a huge improvement in my studying.

MemberSmoothies in the morning – give you a lot of energy and dont make you feel sluggish.
During the day i like to snack on fruits and nuts. Veggies are good too – I like to snack on carrots and avocados.
It s amazing how much better your body feels if you dont eat processed food. Lots of energy, concentration and focus easily.
Dont forget to drink lots of water throughout the day, and avoid soda and sugary drinks.
When i ate processed food and food/drinks with a high content of sugar, they made me feel really sleepy, tired, and i didnt have any energy.
