@BaseballCPA, I mean you have to see it almost as a blessing in disguise because just recently you began to question what you were doing in this relationship anyway and you realized that you have many differences in ideals (religion, politics, etc.) I know its not easy to be without someone who was in your life for such a long while but at the same time, I think she really did both of you a favor by letting you have the opportunity to go out there and be happy with someone who is your exact match. Couldn't agree more with @mgoloubenko. This recently happened to me and now looking back i realized it actually was a good thing. Of course it sucked for a while but when i got my passing grade on REG it made it so much better. Now i am just getting ready to start at a big 4 and do not have to worry about anything besides work and passing my last 2 test. Everything happens for a reason.

@Mg – You are, of course, correct. We weren't going to be together long-term and it was the best, most logical decision. Definitely getting used to not talking to her and all that nonsense, but in the end it was just the best decision for the both of us. Consider my chin officially “up” 🙂 hope to talk to you more.

Just as a general note to some of the posters: I passed the exam a long time ago…this breakup was the result of two people realizing they had no future together. Surprisingly, the exam had no bearing on our being together or not. But I definitely feel you on what a strain it can be on relationships!

Yes, it was. It was for the best though because long distance never works. Hopefully I get to meet a ton of new people when work starts though! I'm officially a CA resident and spent ~4 hours at the DMV holy christ.

Scored an 86% on the exam without studying LOL. It was nice not second guessing myself during mcq's 😀
