I read about him!! Poor guy. I believe it's possible. I used to work insane hours and my supervisor worked more than I did! He would get chest pains and never had time to see the doctor. We worried about him driving home after pulling two over nighters. Thankfully he was able to get another job also, he is much more healthy. But you can't undo what has been done to your body.

His death is an absolute tragedy.

However, with him being so young, I'm wondering if there was some other ailment that he was inflicted with that caused his sudden death. I could be 100% wrong, but I have a feeling someone that young wouldn't die from being overworked. Don't want to take anything away from his death, as I said it is a tragedy, but someone that young I would think he had other complications.

May he rest in peace now.

I saw it too an immediately thought of auditors during busy season! Poor guy, so sad.

However, it seems that the banking/wall street definition of “long hours” entails a little more….. craziness than accountants tend to get into. I know a friend of a friend who is like, a true-life Bud Fox and his work friends apparently put a lot of illegal substances *sniff* into their bodies on the regular. None of it can be good for you!

My boyfriend ended up in the hospital for a week from over-exertion – over-full-time college and full-time working, he was at work and woke up in the hospital way later. He was about 18 or 19 at the time. So, it can happen to the young too. Could be something else, of course, but just saying it does happen to the young as well.

But it is definitely very sad. No paycheck is worth giving up your life. Like Tootsie said, I aim to work to live, not live to work! (And especially not die to work…)

Perhaps he was drinking a lot of coffee or taking other medication as well to keep him away, which messed with his heart… maybe not eating well either.
