I’m a licensed CPA with a job I adore as a finance manager at a small manufacturer. However I’ve always wanted to do taxes on the side as I remember my grandfather doing when I was a child. I’ve done family and friends taxes since I was 18 but thought one season at Jackson Hewitt would give me the confidence to actually charge people for my services.
Sitting in a closet sized cubicle in a busy Wal-Mart was not my idea of fun. JH does great training and I’m pleased with them but omg, Wal-Mart shoppers who have nothing to do with me or taxes are a drag. If I can survive 9 weeks of children banging on the cubicle, people who walk in thinking nobody is there, and the random comments of people walking past I can survive anything!
Licensed Massachusetts Non Reporting CPA since 2012
