Is it just me or does it seems like this forum is dominated by CPA candidates from California?? Perhaps that’s the reason why they made the ethics test so hard! 🙂

LA Country! And City! Okay, the San Fernando Valley. Hey, I know how uncool it is but it's still technically Los Angeles..:)

I just love Ojai (Ventura people), we go there as often as we can and stay at the Emerald Iguana. Love it. Going on Jan.1 and I can't wait. The last bit of relaxation before tax season.

    @ acamp

If I can get the two accounting firms that I worked at over five years ago to sign off on my general experience once I pass I will probably go private.

If they don't sign I will probably apply to both private and public accounting jobs. I worked at Whole Foods for the last five years as a butcher and assistant meat manager so my resume isnt stellar. With the short amount of time i spent at my last two accounting jobs I may be looking at a masters after I pass the exams.

I will definitely be a true test on whether passing the CPA exams can open doors.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Lesson: Apply for your license early in the year.

The renewal fee was $120. However, my initial license fee was only $60, which seemed to be less than what others had to pay for their initial license fee. I guess it was because my birthday is coming up soon and they are going off that.

CA is a big state, for one – but seems to have more CPA Exam drama than most (score release / ethics exam) etc so it sticks out.
