I love to write (I actually started off as a journalism major before switching to accounting…go figure!). I also have such vivid memories of my childhood and about my family that I would love to make into a children’s book. I have been doing some research and found some decent resources from the society of children book writers and illustrators (SCBWI) website.

Anyone have any experience they’d like to share or any words of advice? (no pun intended)

Speaking of business style memos, having only been at my current job for 9 months, I've somehow already become the go-to person for writing memos to the IRS/FTB, etc.

I have a little experience, but very little.

Kary Wagley is a pseudonym. I didn't want to put my real name on it, just in case it was the worst book ever written. I've sold 2 copies! I haven't actually promoted it, or even told very many people that I wrote it. I'm not exactly setting the literary world on fire, but it was fun to do and it gave me something to do while I was in quarantine last year. Good Luck!

LOL Not quite. It's just a story that I told my son to get him to go to sleep when he was little. He's the chess nut, not me. I quit playing when I got tired of getting my butt kicked by a 7 year old.

Haha, ditto. I have a bucket list goal to hit IM before I die. Might have to adjust it since I can't even beat some lower levels of Chessmaster, and just waste time on Chesstempo.com every once in a long while.

Ha Chessmaster! I can barely play “Learn to Play Chess with Fritz and Chester”. You would wipe the floor with me! Seriously, though, we got that game for my son when he was 3 or 4 because studies show that kids who know how to play chess have stronger critical thinking skills. It's a great game and I highly recommend it for anyone with kids.
