I should print this and put it in with returns this year!
Tax Time
It’s tax time again and it’s time to go see the CPA man
Take your W2’s and 1099’s and let him do what he can
To keep you from paying a ton
Remember this is a necessity and for none is it fun
The CPA will try to find every deduction out there
Just so you can pay what’s fair
He’ll get to work at 3am and stay ‘til midnight
His family and friends will be completely out of sight
With very little thanks, and people getting mad
Some think if there’s no refund, he must be bad
He must not be very good at his job
That’s what they believe as they turn the door knob
So they take his work to the closest tax place
And tell them the things they wouldn’t say to the CPA’s face
“I always get a refund. This guy must be dumb.
When I saw how much I owed, I just went numb.”
Deductions come from everywhere and dependents are added
Income is reduced and expenses are padded
Until that refund you wanted is found
Regardless of whether the accounting was sound
Then a few years down the road when the IRS comes to call
The closest tax place is no longer in the mall
They are gone with the wind and nowhere in sight
They took your money and ran like a thief in the night
Now it’s an audit you are facing
And for the worst you are bracing
So it’s back to the CPA man to clean up this mess
You should have filed the return he prepared, you guess
You see those three letters after his name are hard to get
He’s probably the smartest man you’ve ever met
Don’t underestimate the Power of a CPA
He just may save your sanity one day
So when he tells you how much you owe
Remember he doesn’t write the law or tax code
This you can take as a direct quote,
If you don’t like your tax bill, be careful how you vote.
