Check out this guy's YouTube channel. All quality videos on just about any aspect of Quickbooks. He also has a group on FB that is pretty active so you can ask any questions and get a response within minutes.

My advice… if you have access to the software I would recommend entering and reconciling the last couple years of your personal bank statements.
It will help you get some real world experience on how the program works.

You're welcome. If you go to that link I posted and then click on the tab that says “Playlists” it will make it a bit easier to find the videos for beginners. There is a playlist called “QB Online 2017 tutorial” which will teach you all the basics.

I agree with the videos if you don't have a lot of time. If you have some time check out your local community college for a computerized accounting course. My community college teaches a computerized accounting course that is all about QB, and you get a copy of the software you can actually play around with and use some sample files.

By the way how do you guys practice quickbooks without having the actual application? Do they have short term trial periods?

I have quickbooks installed on my computer. You can buy it for a big discount if you're a student or were recently a student. I don't think you need an online class. You can teach yourself, they make it ridiculously easy to learn and use. Intuit has good user manuals, or “Youtube to the rescue.”

You could become a Quickbooks ProAdvisor. The training/certification costs $349 which is pretty steep, but you may need to eventually become certified, especially if you work for a smaller public firm. Youtube is great for tutorials, but if you don't have the software to work along with, you may not retain everything. You can get certified in QB Online, so your training would include a sample file in the online version.
