    1. Will you hang your CPA certificate on your office wall? YUP, maybe with some neon around it.

    2. WIll you put “CPA” in your email signature if it's not required? i.e., you work in private industry: Yup, until the novelty wears off.

    3. Will you hang your other degrees? i.e., MBAs, undergrad, etc., Probably the MAcc, hanging the MBA might be overkill.

    4. Will you hang other certificates? i.e., CIA, CMA, etc.: If I ever get them probably.

Not sure where to hang them exactly. My parents will be happier than me if I pass my CPA, so I might just hang it at their house. I am more looking forward to having that three letter words on my business card than a certificate.

    1. No.

    2. yes, only on my work email, not my personal.

    3. I already do that! 😉

    4. No.

As soon as I ditch my Red stapler and my cublice for a real office, I will hang them all.

For now, I will likely just hang my CPA certificate here at work until I get over the effort (kind of like a woman forgetting the pain of child birth long enough to have another kid).

At home I will have a copy of my CPA certificate to go along with the MBA and BBA degrees.

    1. Will you hang your CPA certificate on your office wall?

Nope. It will go into my safe along with my other valuable papers like diplomas.

    2. WIll you put “CPA” in your email signature if it's not required? i.e., you work in private industry

I may put it on my linkedin profile. But I won't do that unless I am in a position that it is needed (accountant, auditor, in a job setting)

    3. Will you hang your other degrees? i.e., MBAs, undergrad, etc.

Nope. They stay in the safe.

    4. Will you hang other certificates? i.e., CIA, CMA, etc.

If I get my PMP certificate, it will go in the safe as well.

My attitude is not to rest on my laurels but to go and go for the next challenge.

I ask these questions cause I'm pondering these topics right now. I have an office and plan on hanging up my CPA certificate. My last job I worked under the Chief Accounting Officer of a publicly traded company. He had his CPA, but didn't put it on his email signature. I've taken this same stance, but not sure if I should or should not. I'm not the boastful type so I don't want to seem like I'm bragging or shoving it in people's faces every time I send an email. My current position doesn't require the certificaiton. I currently have all my degrees hanging up, two masters degrees and even my undergrad. I've been thinking that it may be a little too much, especially my undergrad. My wife told me I should put them all up, but still feel wierd about it. I just got my PMP and am debating on hanging that up as well. That would mean 5 total small plaques of degrees and certifications on my wall and it would seem obnoxious to me. Anyone have advice on what I should do?

P.S. – This is a good problem to have, I know, but it's been bugging me for a few days and thought that my fellow accounting nerds could weigh on this insignificant dilema. 🙂

    1. Don't have an office, so no.

    2. Not in my email signature, but it will go on my updated resume and on LinkedIn.

    3. My parents hang my degrees in their house – they paid for them…hahahah!

    4. N/A – don't have these other certifications

I say forget that….if you have an office. You earned them, you are proud of them, they speak to your accomplishments….fly them loud and fly them proud!

When I am done with the CPA, I will have:

    -BBA

    -MBA

-Honors graduate certificate for my MBA program

-EA (hardly worth framing, it looks like I made it myself)

    -CPA

You can bet your butt that the day I get an actual office, I will be dislaying them all to see. I feel bad having paid so much money for them all and not displaying them. Until I get an actual office, I will just display the CPA.

I will get two copies of my CPA, one for home office and one for work. Even though my home office doesn't see customers, it sees me. I will have the home copy framed much nicer than the work copy.

Oh and I didn't answer the card….ABSOLUTELY I will have it put on both my work cards (I don't ever use them except for free lunch drawings) and my business cards (I have a small Tax business on the side).

You worked all these years, if you have the wall space at work, display them.

    1. My CPA cert is framed and on top of my file cabinet.

    2. Yes, my email sig includes CPA

    3. Other degrees are in a box in my basement

    4. The only other cert hanging in my office is that I am a member of the Indiana CPA Society (and I just wrote them a check for $350!!!)

    1. Will you hang your CPA certificate on your office wall?

I keep meaning to, but I still haven't bought a frame. Just been busy.

    2. WIll you put “CPA” in your email signature if it's not required? i.e., you work in private industry

I wasn't going to (since I don't actually control my signature, the IT department does) but the CFO of my company emailed me and told me that I should. He also had me order new business cards.

    3. Will you hang your other degrees? i.e., MBAs, undergrad, etc.

Already hung up a long time ago.

    4. Will you hang other certificates? i.e., CIA, CMA, etc.

I don't plan on getting any other certificates. I want my wall space to be covered in pictures of what really matters… My family!
