My office is located at an industrial operations depot for the Army so my boss actually discourages anything more formal than dress pants and a button up.

There have been some weeks where all I wear is jeans and a polo. Our HQ (located in ILL and not an industrial operations site) is more strict though. I believe the minimum dress code for them is the max for us…lol.

I work for a small Investment Advisor (three people) that shares office space with a CPA firm. We dress business casual (slacks and dress shirt; occasional tie and jacket depending on what client is coming in). The CPA firm is also business casual, but they have casual Fridays (jeans allowed) and we don't.

Business Casual – dress pants, nice shirt for guys…dress pants/skirt nice top for the ladies. Tshirts/sweaters pass if a scarf or necklace make it look nice 🙂 Jeans/sneakers on Fridays.

Business Casual, although I worked for an extended period on a tech client where anything fancier than jeans and a polo was considered overdressed 🙂

Business casual. It is a very small CPA office. The partners usually wear suits though.

Monday-Thursday is business Casual but no jeans…think dress shirts or sweaters with black/grey pants. If I'm seeing a client then I'll wear a suit…which is everyday pretty much during tax season! Fridays we can wear jeans but tops must be professional and appropriate, i.e no athletic apparel or sweats. On Saturdays we joke that you can come in your bathrobe if you want to…just come to work!!! 😉

Everyone at our place is good about respecting the dress code except for one person who still thinks its OK to wear their clothes from 1992!! One of the major problems is that this individual was probably much smaller in 1992 if you catch my drift. Granted they do meet our criteria for business casual so I can't really say anything but the outfits are hysterical! This person works in admin so clients don't see the “fashion” much…but I recently did have a client LOL pretty hard at one of their more colorful outfits when they passed by the conference room window!

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂
    AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
    BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
    FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂

As the controller for a small non-profit in Austin TX – Austin is very casual. So I usually wear nice denim, plus a blazer or sweater set and moderate nice heels or boots. We can wear denim in my office, but I always want to look pulled together.

But if I have to interact with clients or board members or do any kind of negotiating – back to grownup clothes 🙂 that is, black/grey pants and dressier tops and jewelry, or a suit.
