    Hey everyone.

I have one more exam until im done with this dreaded test and was thinking of upgrading my car. I have an old pathifinder with over 200k miles and it’s just time for an upgrade.

I was just wondering what everyone here is driving, wants to buy and/or will be buying shortly. People in my office seem to all drive bmws, audis, or mercedes! I don’t know if i could spend that much for a car.

I bought a slightly used 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe almost 2 years ago and love it! I really wanted a Toyota Highlander, but it was out of my budget at the time. Eventually I would still like to get one.

However my dream car is a Chevy Corvette ZR1. My husband and I have an agreement that if we can ever afford a nice “for fun” car, that's what we will get.

'97 Mercury Sable, bought from my parents who bought it from my neighbor, $1600. I've had it now for about 3 years and it's been alright…but it has no heat and no AC. I can wear coats in the winter and keep the windows down in the summer, but the one piece I haven't figured out is how to keep my windshield clear in the winter. I've tried everything I can think of or can find online etc (plugging heaters into the cigarette lighters; fancy sprays; etc), but my visibility is still severely limited for the first few miles. I struggled through it last winter, but as another winter is approaching, I'm thinking seriously about whether or not it's time to look for a new car. It's also having some symptoms of further problems – former radiator issues are acting up again, cylinder 2 is misfiring and spark plugs don't fix it, etc. I've probably put under $500 of repairs into this one (including new brakes), so really, $2100 for 3 years of driving isn't bad. I don't think the car is worth dumping much more money into, so may start looking at used options… Especially since I have a 40 minute drive to work, so getting a ride to work would be really hard if my car died (and I live in the middle of nowhere, so public transportation is not an option). But, my boyfriend says that my next car is not going to be terribly old, which means I need to be prepared to drop most of my savings on it (would rather pay everything I have in cash than to buy on credit…), and I don't like that idea…

Dream car: Something with a lot of life and no payment. Subaru and Toyota are probably some of my top picks – my boyfriend's 2005 Corolla seems like a very dependable car. Even if I had the money lying around, I don't (at this point in time) really have an interest in the expensive cars – Porsche, BMW, etc. But who knows – maybe when I actually have the money, I'll feel differently!
