It was suggested that I start an Off-Topic thread so that people didn’t need to start a new thread every time.

@Baxter I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad!!! I'm glad that he was able to see you realize your dream in time! π
@ToughKitty Congrats!!!!!! π
This thread is awesome, BTW! It blows my mind to think of how much younger and younger kids are getting before the reach the age of “the talk” about sex. EEEKKKK!!! I'm 31 and many of my friends are starting families so I'm always on the look out for cute outfits for my new little BFFs. I was at Target over the weekend and I saw a ONESIE that read “Single and Lovin' it!” and was completely horrified. Another pink shirt sized for a toddler read “does this diaper make my butt look big?”. BARF. Like a reasonable adults needs to advertise concern about their child's relationship status or how their little ones butt looks. I'm equally as off put by boys shirts that say things like “little hottie” or “big stud” or “ladies man”. Kids don't need to learn about relationship statuses or worry about their body images so young. We should let them be innocent for as long as possible. That's my two cents for what it's worth! π
Ask me if I miss studying??? NOPE. Fingers, toes, arms, and everything else crossed for 2/3!!!!!!!! π

I used to be into those kind of t-shirts when I was a teenager π but not anymore. I don't want people staring at me because they want to read what's on my t-shirt.

January 31, 2014 at 2:07 am #529741AnonymousInactiveFolks, you might have heard it already, but I thought I would post it here as off- topic.
Itβs so heartbreaking to hear about the horrific tragedy that happened early this morning in Western Kentucky. A fire destroyed the house of a young family with 9 children between the ages of 4-15. The mother along with the 8 children perished while the husband and only 1 daughter, still in critical condition, were rushed to the nearest hospital. The family has no home insurance whatsoever.
Their local home church, Calvary Baptist Church has set up Watson Family Memorial Fund in the care of Old National Bank and First Kentucky Bank.
Hereβs the link if anyone of you feels burdened to help this family:
P.S.

I just thought a minute of glance on this newscast worth asking those people who have a compassion heart for others who are going through incomprehensible tragedies like this one.
Thank you.

February 1, 2014 at 2:21 pm #529747AnonymousInactive@amordiva I've been watching that story on the news too…so sad. π I almost feel worst for the survivors. Can you imagine fighting for life in the hospital, and when the doctors finally tell you where your family is, finding out that your wife and 8 of your kids are dead??? Or for the surviving daughter, that your mom and all your siblings are dead… Dang. I've lived in houses that heat with wood before, and it's always a danger, but it's never something that you think will actually happen to you!

February 2, 2014 at 2:41 am #529749AnonymousInactive@Lilla, our life can be taken away in a snap just like that, if it's really our time to go.
But still, we're all responsible for safety measures in our own home. Door/window locks β Electric cords / plugs / wires β Fire Detectors β Fire Extinguisher β
P.S.
The Calvary Baptist Church updated the information on its FB page how and where to send donations for the family. Posting this update is the least I can do for this family. Thanks.
