It was suggested that I start an Off-Topic thread so that people didn’t need to start a new thread every time.

@tough_kitty I've known people that would have needed it around that age…both due to their physical state and their habits. I'm not truly advocating for that, but sometimes seeing these highschool mom's 10 years later still living off of handouts, it can make it almost seem like a good idea!

What a odd post but I love the random thoughts. @baxter – Soooo sorry about your loss. I thought you might be Andrew and his post about losing his father. What a tragic year for him, you & others on this site that we don't even know about.

I can tell you as a parent of two wonderful, adopted kids, 12 & 7, how thankful I am for them but I will be having the talk as soon as my 12 yd old reaches womanhood like her friends. We did the guardicil vaccinations (I know – controversial). There have been 13-14 yr olds in our small town pregnant & my daughter doesn't even know how it happens yet. Heck, my kids call fart the f-word πŸ˜‰ luckily my daughter says she wants to adopt like us bc I keep telling her how great it is & how she can't get married til she's 26! I doubt it will work but you never know when kids listen.

@tough kitty- the only people I know who have given young teens bc pills are what I call more pogrssive/liberal in parenting views. They tell me that the kids will do it anyway so why not help protect. Ironically my hairdresser did this & both of her teen daughters got pregnant. She's a grandma @ 38 or 39! Also, most of my more liberal thinking friends let their young kids on fb, get cell phones young, & have limitless electronics. I see it in rich & poor, educated & uneducated.

@ g3. I very much miss the 80's when I grew up. I had a good friend recently miss my b'day which was right before BEC. When she found out, she said, well if you get back on fb I can then remember. I got off when studying got crazy over a yr ago. I thought, what did people do before fb & what about those people not on fb? I put their b'day on my phone calendar or in my address book. I guess that's being an anal accountant πŸ˜‰

Sorry for the long post. Can you tell I'm just anxiously waiting my last score & doing nothing??? Happy weekend y'all

@bama_mom I am not on fb either…too busy for something that everyone says is so distracting. I keep my friends and family members b-days on my calendar every year (my New Year's Day ritual is transferring these from the old to the new calendars)

I am also anxiously awaiting my (hopefully) last score. Good Luck πŸ™‚

When I said life was easier back in 80-90's, I was expressing exclusively my own subjective opinion. I didn't even live in this country back then….

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

@toughkitty just saying what I think when I hear that expression, not trying to imply you meant it like that at all lol I'm 100% positive you weren't saying it in that context πŸ™‚

@teeteenounouche sometimes I just say “can you please reply that in my email just so I have something in writing?” it can get awkward sometimes but gotta cover your own assets lol
