Does anyone know if your work experience counts only after you meet the 150 credits requirement? I have worked almost 2 years at a CPA firm but only have my college degree so far (120 credits) so I assumed this work experience didn’t count yet. Any thoughts??

Didn't we just go over this?
Did you review the Forms 1 and 4B and 4B instructions?

The instructions to 4B make no mention of the work experience being earned AFTER you have completed the education experience.

The Form 1 also makes no reference to the work experience being earned AFTER you have completed the education experience.

@ReckedRacing Yes, I did. Just because it is not mentioned in the instructions does not automatically mean there's no specific order. I looked at other websites and they said it would not count until the full 150 credits have been completed. I have also emailed 3 different NYS CPA contacts so believe me I am doing everything I can to find out this answer. Just wanted to see if anyone ELSE has/knows a concrete answer.

Also no mention of it in Article 149 directly from NYS.
    https://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/article149.htm

Also Part 70 on the Commissioner's Regulations makes no mention of the requirement the work experience be earned after education experience.
    https://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/cpa/part70.htm

    §70.3 Experience requirements.

An applicant who has satisfied the requirements as to education shall meet the experience requirement for licensure as a certified public accountant by submitting documentation, satisfactory to the Board of Regents, of completion of the following experience requirements:
One year of acceptable full-time experience, or the equivalent thereof, shall be required for an applicant who has met the professional education requirements for licensure in section 70.2 of this Part through completion of a curriculum of at least 150 semester hours in a baccalaureate or higher degree program in accountancy, or its foreign equivalent, in accountancy that is registered by the Department pursuant to section 52.13 of this Title, accredited by an acceptable accrediting agency, or determined by the Department to be the substantial equivalent of a registered or accredited program.
Two years of acceptable experience, or the equivalent thereof, shall be required for an applicant who has met the professional education requirements for licensure in section 70.1 of this Part through completion of a curriculum of at 120 semester hours in a baccalaureate or higher degree program in accountancy, or its foreign equivalent, that is registered by the Department pursuant to section 52.13 of this Title, accredited an acceptable accrediting agency, or determined by the Department to be the substantial equivalent of a registered or accredited program.
For purposes of this subdivision, one year of full-time experience shall mean an aggregate total of twelve calendar months of full-time employment. Full-time shall be defined as a five-day work week, with at least 35 hours of experience per week, excluding overtime. The State Board for Public Accountancy may also credit an applicant for part-time experience in the amount of one week of experience for every two weeks of acceptable part-time experience earned. Part-time shall be defined as at least 20 hours of experience per week.
Such experience shall be attested to by a certified public accountant licensed in New York or in another political subdivision of the United States or by a public accountant licensed in New York, provided that such certified public accountant or public accountant acted in a supervisory capacity to the applicant in the employing organization.
Acceptable experience in the practice of public accountancy shall be limited to experience in providing accounting services or advice involving the use of accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax or consulting skills under the supervision of a certified public accountant licensed in the United States or a public accountant licensed in New York.
Acceptable experience in the practice of public accountancy shall be earned through employment in public practice, government, private industry or an educational institution.
For purposes of subdivision (a), if the experience was earned more than ten years after the applicant passed the certified public accountant licensing examination, a license will not be issued until the applicant completes a satisfactory amount of continuing professional education, as is deemed appropriate by the State Board.

Post some links to the website that mention the requirement you are referring to.
I'd be curious to read them.

The actual legal texts as quoted above would take precedent from any 3rd party website.
Perhaps I am interrupting them incorrectly, but it seems pretty clear to me.

You can pay NASBA to do an education evaluation, or you can do the grunt work and get out your transcripts and compare your courses to the requirements.
I believe you only need one class in each of the 4 categories plus a Bachelors(120hr) to sit for the exam.
Look up the rules on the NYS CPA website.

I agree that official websites would take precedent over 3rd party websites. However, I would not be surprised if they simply did not specify what order. I interpret it as after both the exam & education requirements, then work experience begins to count. I hope I am wrong too but I'd like to be 100p certain.
