    Hi all,

I’m wondering if someone can clarify for me the requirements for work experience in NYS. I see on the form that they ask for percentage of time allocated to many accounting functions. Does it make any difference to what category I have worked?

    Thanks

It doesn't make a difference. Just make sure that the person signing off is a CPA of the state where your experience is performed. If you are working in NJ or CT, then you need a CPA registered in that state to sign off.

If i'm not mistaken, there was an old rule that you had to do a certain amount of audit work for licensing, however that isn't the case anymore. As alboreland stated, if your applying for NYS license a NYS Licensed CPA must sign off on experience. Whoever you have will fill in the percentages but they really don't translate into anything necessary when applying for license. Good luck!

THE 300 CLUB WILL DO JUST FINE!
