Hey Guys! Just wondering one thing… when we fill out the work experience form 4B for NY, are they looking for a candidate to have work experience in all areas? My last employer had me signed off for independent audit, tax prep, and bookkeeping / internal statement preparation- worked for about 6 months there. My current employer will likely sign me off for bookkeeping and internal financial statement preparation. I am a staff accountant at my current position. I handle full AP from receiving to entering to cutting the checks. I am also responsible for vendor maintanance – W9 and 1099 filing. Additionally I am responsible for a lot of the close. Entering and reconciling CC, cash, FA, Prepiads, deposits, accruals, deferred rent, and assisting with and maintaining internal control.

I work in MA witch I don’t think is an issue as long as it is under a US CPA.

    Should I be worried?

    Thank you in advance guys!!

NY no longer requires any specific areas such as audit.
It's more of a catch all.
Just be careful, the first 2 boxes can only be done at Registered Public Accounting Firms.

Read the work experience requirements again, and I think you will see you have nothing to worry about, at least according to my interpretation. This was also confirmed via e-mail with the NYS Board.
