I just received my NTS for FAR and AUD. It states that the earliest I could take is is 5/19/15 and the latest is 2/19/16.

I was planning on taking FAR first week of July and AUD the last day or two of August. But, I am not feeling great about FAR. So, far it is not the material, it is me. Very poor time management and procrastination. I am using Roger and I am currently on Chapter 8 of 32. I also have Ninja 10 point combo. My plan was for leave about 3-4 weeks between finishing Roger and my FAR date so that I can use the 10 point combo, especially the MCQs and audio. But because of my poor time management, I am not sure if I will leave myself much time between finishing Roger and my test date to actually be able to use Ninja.

My question is, I have my NTS for FAR and AUD, and I must take the exams for both by 2/19/16. Say I want to push FAR back a couple weeks. So then that would leave me 5 weeks for AUD instead of 7. Can I order another NTS for say BEC, and schedule that for the exam I will take after FAR at the end of august, or do I have to take the two tests on my first NTS before ordering another NTS and taking one of those exams?

What I did was write out a schedule of what chapters I needed to cover each week (including the length of the chapters in the analysis, as that can vary widely) so that I could readily keep an eye on my pacing. Study at least an hour every single day, not including time spent listening to Audio.

I also don't believe in doing 1,000s of MCQs or redoing the same ones over and over (although that works great for some people), but instead making my MCQ time really efficient. I have a few strategies for that:

– No practice tests. I only did MCQ when I could get immediate feedback. Look up the correct answer right away, rather than doing a bunch of MCQ and then looking up all the answers.

– No guessing. If I didn't know or couldn't quite recall the approach, I looked it up. That way I was always focused on the material and the correct answers. Guessing reinforces wrong answers and not knowing the material.

– Take notes on sticking points as you go through them. Rework the problem, reread that paragraph, etc., to reinforce the material.

This is longer time spent on each question, but in the end I did way less questions than a lot of people.

Is 6 weeks long enough to finish Roger + Ninja 10pt?

@Kimboroni. Thanks for the advice. Ya, I have been putting off the ninja mcqs because I didn't want to get into that guessing or memorization mode. I wanted to at least cover the topic in roger before seeing it in the ninja MCQs

For plan A, I would shift some of the AUD time to FAR. AUD has way less material. And shift some of the BEC time to REG for the same reason.

That's fine to wait for Ninja MCQ, but you're really short-changing yourself if you're not listening to Jeff whenever you can. He's great to listen to in the car. Just don't ask me anything that happened in music or on NPR in 2014!
