Back in November i got my NTS for AUD and FAR at the same time to save some $. Thanks to a big 4 schedule I was only able to get AUD done. My FAR NTS expires 5/13 and since I wasn’t able to start studying before 4/15 there is no chance I am ready. I was told I need to wait 5 business days after the NTS expires before I can apply for a new one. In all likelihood I wont be able to schedule FAR until 5/26 and need to take it by 5/31 or else REG will expire. FAR is my last test! I am willing to travel 2-3 hours if necessary but is there any chance I will be able to find a testing day. It seems they are all filled as of now.

I would keep checking the site, people cancel all the time. But you will have to pay to change yours as well…..just make sure you're ready before you spend more money rolling dice for a test you didn't study for.

@tncincy The way i see it I have to let this NTS expire on the 13th then wait 5 business days to apply for another NTS so I wont be able to check the site for cancellations until May 26th or so. Is there something else I can do that I am missing? Thanks!

Not this test window….You will have to wait til July, this window is over 5/31. I don't know of anything else you can do for this window.

Well sometimes you can get an extension. It is a pretty limited policy through nasba (https://www.nasba.org/files/2011/03/Exception_Policy.pdf) , but from what I have heard it can be more lenient through your state board. I did this for my FAR exam when my dad died. Also, if you can't extend, don't give up hope! I somehow never scheduled my audit exam even though I had added the date to all of my calendars. I discovered this on a Friday (at the end of November) and was able to reschedule for the next Monday. I think once you get it if you are vigilant there is a very good chance you will find something. I hope you figure it out!

You can purchase the nts and try and schedule as soon as you get it, but again this window will be over so you might not get a seat, but keeping when you get your new nts.

Also if your NTS expires on the 13th you should be able to get a new one by the 20th not the 26th. Plus I think I got mine before 5 business days, so you may get yours before then too. Let this NTS expire since u wont be ready in two days. I think it takes a day or two for them to process u as a no show. Then apply for new NTS, you should receive the new NTS within a day or two of applying for it.

Thanks for all the responses. It seems like i should just keep studying as if Im taking it, get a new NTS asap and then pray for a prometric opening at one of the 20 locations withing 2 hours of my home.

There will be an opening! There are ALWAYS people cancelling last minute because they arent prepared.

Theres no point in checking now bc it will change 710 times before you get your new NTS.

@Determined CPA 100% agree I was just curious. The question are all end of windows always booked solid at this point but many appointments open up? I am trying to gauge the realistic possibility I will find an appointment the last week of May
