FAR was actually one I tackled first. Missed by 4 pts then retook it and just started over from the beginning. It was years ago so I am not quite sure how much it has changed. It was a lot of information! Good luck!

I'm also taking audit in august. Did you start studying for it yet? I haven't started but do you think just getting a cram is enough?

I am strictly BEC right now until August 4th then doing AUD. I ordered the cram for AUD. I learn better in shorter segments and I have taken it before so I have some background/understanding.

Do you recommend yaeger cram? I'm going in blind… I just graduated from college and took audit last semester but I learned nothing. I got an A- for the class by memorizing answers from the test bank. The majority of the test were not questions from the test bank but rather a play on words so it was somewhat similar. Do you think I can get away by doing the same thing with audit by studying 3 weeks with cram, mcq and sim? I heard the sim were pretty brutal…

@Cookiecrem – I highly suggest the Roger Cram for Audit. I actually had both the full course and the Cram for audit and I was highly impressed how in depth he goes in the Cram and he also sends you a book that is almost identical to the full course book, with the exception of a lot of MCQs. However, you don't get a test bank but don't feel bad because Roger's test bank isn't the best. You are better of getting NINJA MCQs which are awesome and only $47. I also studied with Roger for FAR and also included the NINJA 10PT combo (check it out if you haven't already) and there you'll have to make sure you have enough time to cover all the material since this section is so vast. You really need to know your J/Es…if you study with Roger he uses them a lot to answer MCQs which is great so you don't leave it for last minute to memorize all the J/Es and don't don't skimp on learning governmental and NFP…those two sections are 20% together. Hopefully that helps. 🙂 Back to BEC studying. Good luck!

@Silliepanda – I'm also studying BEC this weekend since I have my exam on Monday evening. Studying with Roger, Yaegar and NINJA. If I don't pass this thing then I don't know what to think, lol. Good luck with your own studies and exam!

Good luck! I wish I had done the same thing. Last summer sucked because I had to study and I swore I wouldn't do that to myself again. Yet here I am…the pool is calling my name, but I'm spending my day with Tim Gerrity.

@TaxGod Haha. I found the first 2 chapters in Becker pretty easy (Individual Tax), but 3 (C corps) is taking me way too long. There are so many little details to remember!

@Zumno76- Is there a limit to the number of times you can watch roger cram online? How many hours is it? How do i memorize the journal entries. I heard a lot of people complaining that there were a lot more gov and nfp than 20%….

    I have te complete 10pt combo 😀

Back at it again. Hoping everyone had a successful Saturday. Cookiecrem… I don't believe there is a limit to how many times you can watch it. If you google Roger CPA Cram Course policies and terms there is a PDF file and I don't believe it discusses that (unless I missed it). I purchased the BEC one a few months ago and my score increased significantly (but still not enough to pass due to my own faults). I am not sure I would say MEMORIZE the journal entries. It is more of understand why you are doing them. I would def supplement with NINJA products. The MCQ are the best I have seen. Good luck and hope you have a successful day!

@Cookiecrem – I echo Silliepanda's comments above. There is no limit to how many times you can watch the Cram videos but they do limit you to a two-month subscription for the online access. I'm not sure about the USB so you may want to call and ask. It's still cheaper than buying the full course though.

Not sure how other courses teach FAR but from my experience with Roger he incorporated the J/Es into each section. So when he teaches the concept he writes out the J/E on the board so you know exactly how to set it up. When he's working out examples he uses the J/Es and shows us how the answer can come right out of the J/E. The idea is to take good notes of all these J/Es and as you work out the MCQs you are also practicing the J/Es so you understand how everything flows and also to help you work out the problem.
