I would e-mail (or regular mail) a copy of your resume with a cover letter to the top 25 public accounting firms in your city. I did that right out of college, and got a number of responses … some bad … some good. That's how I landed my first public accounting job. You can't sit and wait. Be proactive.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

What I did was goto multiple career fairs and ended up getting interviewed by firms that turned me down at a previous fair. Granted it is kind of late this season for that…

The above response about reaching out to local firms is a good one. Dress up and drop some resumes off at their offices. It will show initiative if nothing else

You don't provide us with a lot of information about your situation.

Are you a foreign student that completed an undergraduate accounting degree at a U.S. university in May 2013 ?

If so, what is your visa status? Do you need to be sponsored for an H-1B ?

    FAR 66 FAIL Feb 2015
    FAR 79 PASS May 2015
    BEC 89 PASS Aug 2015
    AUD 83 PASS Nov 2015
    REG 76 PASS Feb 2016

Applying for non-reporting Massachusetts CPA license

My college didn't even have campus recruiting (I completed my degree online), but I still got a job in public accounting, and I did it the way Gatorbates suggested – I delivered resume and cover letter to the accounting firms in the area. I live in a small town surrounded by other small towns, so for me, it wasn't the top 25 – I'm not sure I had 25 firms total, and that was applying at everything except the creepy-looking hole-in-the-wall taxes-only place. But, the principal is the same – getting out there and trying your luck locally. However, I would go more for kmaahs's suggestion of dressing up nice and dropping it off in person, rather than sending it via either snail-mail or e-mail. When I visited the office that I ended up working for, the guy said that he had no openings but he knew that he would in a couple months, and because he'd told me when he'd be hiring, I was able to follow up at the right time and get the interview. Conversely, we had someone mail us a cover letter and resume a couple months before we were going to, again, be hiring, and my boss didn't give it a second thought. Because she wasn't there in person to draw him into conversation and find out that he'd be hiring, she had no opportunity to know when to follow up. So, I prefer the in-person. It allows you to make a good impression and also gives you an opportunity to pick up any pointers you can get to increase your chance of landing a job in the future!

Don't worry about it. Most of the interviews on campus are glorified dog and pony shows. You'll find a job. It will just take a little hustle.
