    Hello all,

I have come out of my hiatus and pushing along. I have been taking the exam for years; I mean years of no success. The closest I came to passing was a 69 in Audit in 2015. I have been exclusively using Becker over and over and over. I once paid out-of-pocket and the other time my employer foot the bill.

I have come to the conclusion that Becker is not working for me! Here how I would study with Becker:
watch the long lectures, circle this, highlight this, solve countless mcqs and some sims. I’m at my wits end with this process.

I learn best by doing and seeing. Now, I am asking those that have used other review course which one I should go with? I want to be done once and for all with this exam!! And move on with my life!

    Kindly opine! Thank you.

I suggest you youtube, cpa prep lectures and try different providers there.. It is an easy and fast way to see which works for you.

I also failed with Becker, the lectures were very boring. One weekend I binged listened Jeff's another71 podcast, and he sold me on the ninja method.

I used it with REG. I spent 2 weeks reading and taking a lot of notes on everything. Skipped the lectures and did minimal MCQs. For the next 2 weeks I did non stop ninja and becker MCQs, no practice sims. I repeated the ninja method and have passed all except FAR so far. Also I didn't give myself too much time to study, that way I don't forget what I learned.

    4 weeks for REG
    4 weeks for AUD
    2 weeks for BEC
6 weeks for FAR (failed one Becker method, failed again Ninja method). Currently trying 8 week ninja method, and I'm going to do all MCQs and Sims.

This sounds like a post i would make a few years ago..i was in the SAME EXACT BOAT AS YOU. Becker was free at the time for me so i used it..but it never really was as effective as i assumed. I realize though that its because in my opinion, its always helpful to have supplemental additional materials…Becker is really good, but our brains need other ways to learn too so. Here are my two cents:
    1) i had becker but also got wiley (if its paid for you, i found their test bank to be the most helpful…) So i used Becker as my “main structure”..their chapter breakdowns feels less overwhelming than Wiley..wiley feels like a hot mess sometimes.
    2) used Wiley to “watch videos” especially concepts. If you are a visual learner, those could have the most value.
    3) As added free learning, yes some youtube videos are helpful especially on concepts. Like this one for example, like this dude https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzRF-OFuv8os-bGzANpQGqg
of course fact check it/make sure it is correct per new laws etc.. however, its a simple video that provides lots and lots of high level concept that tends to get too complicated when its structured as a becker problem. Becker has one way of solving it but the trick is learning how to solve it another way.gaining comfort in reading the problem and not be overwhelmed with how to answer it
    4) get NINJA MCQ. Im telling ya, it WORKS if used along side Becker. I usually would do it as supplement. See my signature below on the summary of what i ultimately did/helped.
    5) Lastly, the Ninja summary notes helped too but truthfully the Becker sumamries are helpful..i usually print that out and take notes on the side to make sure i cover every concept. Sort of like a working table of contents taht you refer to to organize your study process.
    6) Last, lastly, study Becker SIMULATION answers like its a book. Print it and study it. There is still value to them but learn it a different way perhaps

    Good luck

    BEC - 68,70,72,75 5/15
    AUD - 78(expired), 77 8/15
    REG - 29,58,65,77 1/16
FAR - 56,68,73 - retake October hopefully (last shot)

Been doing this since 2007 on and off...

    Becker was wonderful for me.

I second @auditsucks . There are free lecture videos on youtube used promote the courses, so you can get a glimpse of what you it would be.

    Good luck!
