I apologize in advance for the rant, but I’m pretty bummed at the moment.
So a quick background…I graduated in 2004 with a double major in Finance and Sports Mgmt. I went back to school last year to get the necessary credits to become licensed and thought I would be graduating this December with an accounting degree. I will have taken all the accounting classes required in my school’s curriculum, but according to my school you need to take 45 credits in residency for a second bachelor’s.
Long story short, my wife’s expecting a baby in February and I was hoping to start taking my first section in April. There’s no way I could do both while working full time. I spoke to several professors about my situation over the past year and none of them mentioned I needed 45 residency credits for a second bachelor’s degree. I know at the end of the day it’s on me to know about the requirement, but thinking I was so close to being done and now finding this out totally blindsided me. Do you feel having the actual degree in accounting is more important to a potential employer than having passed all 4 sections?
