Good morning, forum!

I need 3 more credits of upper-level accounting in order to be licensed in the state of Georgia. I’m currently taking Fraud Auditing/Forensic Accounting through LSU online, and then I need one more course. I like the ease of the LSU online course (self-paced, interesting, not too difficult). Unfortunately, I can’t take any of the other Accounting classes LSU offers online, because I’ve already taken all of those (some variation of those) in my undergrad coursework back in the day.

For anyone else who has had to take upper level accounting courses online to be eligible for licensure, please list your recommendations of online courses, how the price was, difficulty of the course, how easy it was to register, etc. I would really appreciate it!

I took courses at Foothill in CA. I managed to get SOME aid and so I ended up paying like 50 for the class and 150 for the required textbook with homework. It was five units and it counts.

Class is a straight up joke, if you really want to push your luck, you could even forgo the book and survive on the excel class problems and midterms and final alone, you MIGHT just be able to pass the class. Any class at this CC is pretty simple. But classes are usually impacted, so register early.

I just finished the last one that LSU has to offer too. Check out UCLA Extension. They have a lot of online classes and some are pretty interesting. I just finished one and it was really easy, just as cheap as LSU, and it was pretty fun. The classes last around 2 months, so about the same as LSU requires. You just sign up online, pay, and you're in. Very easy. I think they use ProctorU as well for some classes, but the one I took was open book and done in an online quiz format for the exam (only had to do one; the rest were projects or short quizzes).

@tg7174 Thanks for your help! I just signed up for a UCLA Extension course. What did you think of the LSU Fraud class? Were the midterm and final exams difficult, or were they on par with the quizzes?
