Help! I’m new to the group and totally love this support group☺

I’m having a heck of time trying to focus studying, I’m just finishing up a tough few weeks in working long hours. Before my work marathon (qtr end requirements) I was totally focused and motivated. Since then I’ve been having difficultly getting through lessons and being motivated. Getting kinda stressed out since November 30 – REG test day is coming very quickly!

Any words of advice, words of encouragement, motivational quotes, etc?

    Thanks

    REG – Nov 30

    AUD – Jan 2014

    FAR – Mar 2014

    BEC – June 2014

My words of advice is get obsessed with studying. You are working hard so you might want to wake up early and before you are worn out from work you may want to get a couple hours of studying in. Wake up at 5:00am and go to sleep when you get home from work?

Take pride in the fact that you can get 16 hours of studying on the weekend. I have an app called Way of Life on my smart phone and it consists of a study list that I created:

    45 minutes of lectures

    45 minutes of questions

    45 minutes of flashcards

    etc.

Each time I complete a task I check it off. I am learning to become obsessed meeting my daily study schedule and learning to feel guilty whenever I don't. Before you study listen to motivational video if you have trouble getting started:

Or focus on what it means to you(your family if applicable) to pass this exam. Remember that the free time after you pass all the exams is going to feel way more “free” than before you pass the exams. Know the mentality that is required to pass these exams:

I think we all need to learn something from the nike slogan “just do it”. You need to get home form work and before you even sit down open the book and just sit down in front of it. You need to make daily study goals and hold yourself accountable(I'm talking to myself as well at this point). You need to focus all your available energy in these tests and take pride in the strides that you take in improving your willpower and mental endurance.

    Just a few ideas….good luck!

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

My advice, take it with a grain of salt or take it to heart, is to learn to STAND!

Study like your life depends on it

    Take control of your life

Accept that you won't know everything

Never give the bully a free shot

Discipline to the point of obsession

Music is a great motivator. I prefer hip hop but the lyrics are usually a little too graphic for some so I won't post those. Good Luck and Welcome! You are in the right place.
