Peter Olinto promised a lot of money for this CPA gig. I’m just not seeing it.

    I’ve been lied to.

Im still trying to figure out what PurpleK meant by the following=

I would say I'm doing alright. Age 27 and my salary after bonus puts me in the top 2% on an average year and top 1% in a good year.

Im absolutely certain he is not talking about 1% or 2% of the nation. Maybe his zipcode?

I suppose its possible he's in the top 1% or 2% nationwide.

The 98th percentile for Individual filers is $143,705 in annual income. It's important to remember that figure includes all forms of income (not just wages).

A Big 4 all star can probably pull down $143,705 a year by 27, especially if they're in consulting.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Top 1 to 2% of the nation for individuals based on the 2013 census. For quick reference you can use the 2011 chart provided by the Tax Policy Center (https://taxpolicycenter.org/numbers/displayatab.cfm?DocID=2970), which is similar and easier to read.

For households, somewhere in the 7-8% since I am single. The linked chart unfortunately does not define all tax units the same way as the census does for households, so the numbers vary a bit.

Was able to get out of the Big 4 when a great opportunity arose. Instead, think controller of a mid-sized hedge fund.
