What I mean by MIL is……mother-in-law. and the answer to that question from me right now is HECK NO!! So, she sent me a a few pretty nasty texts, calling me names and things (not the first time). Just one of those things you have to deal with in life and while studying for this exam. So….to turn it into a positive, I took a print-screen from my phone of the string of texts, printed it, and taped it to the front of my Wiley book. I figured I would use the negative and turn it into positive energy to use to study for the exam. I’m going to use it as a motivator to pass FAR once and for all.

Seattle…sounds like you are rubbing it in a little bit! No need to kick a man (or woman) when they are down! haha

I'm divorced but my ex mother in law didn't speak much english…haha. I never really had to deal with her but she would always look at me with a disapproving frown so I know she didn't like the white man her daughter was married to. Old people can be so racist. Ah well…..

@Flip, you are certainly entitled to opinion.

@Spur I feel for you. I've been there, my mother in law for the most part means well but the part of your brain that say don't say this it's mean/rude/inappropriate it's missing.

In addition she was a major reason I gave up studying the last time around, she sent out a christmas letter detailing I had passed two parts and sat since whenever, after I specifically told her I'm not telling people about the exam. I flipped out was so mad, I let her get under my skin and I shouldn't have, if I didn't let her get to me I would probably be done with exam by now. (we weren't even married yet!!!)

Moral of the story do not let her get to you, ask your spouse to talk to her what she did was wrong and not ok. Do not let it derail you from this goal! Your spouse should be a support system right now. You can do this, kick it in to high gear and take FAR down next month!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Yeah, this whole situation is pretty annoying. @LSNYC, the same thing happened to me to, but I guess I let it go. She's at least been pretty supportive of me taking this exam. I've been married for a while now and I've learned to brush it off most of the time. My wife is great, no issues there at all, but my MIL and I have clashing personalities. It seems like that's a constant across the universe. Ha!

Anyway thanks for listening to my rant here. I'll report back here on May 6th with my score. I have confidence.

I don't dislike my MIL, I just find her……..well……….uhm……..ever see honey boo boo? Yeah, those could be my in laws. Nice enough and would never hurt a fly but I'm fairly certain that if my mother in law and father in law ever get divorced, they'll STILL be first cousins.

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
