Hey guys well as you all know I applied to my first CPA firm about two weeks ago. I then had a phone interview conducted last Monday in which the recruiter replied that she would get back with me on Wednesday May 6th of this week. Well Wednesday came and rolled by and I got no reply. I did some quick research on what to do when an employer does not reply back and read that you should send them a thank you note.

So I sent a brief email thanking her and she replied back shortly after explaining how the actual hiring manager has not been available and that I was still considered a candidate for the position. That was yesterday. Well this morning in I got the call that I am scheduled for a second interview next Thursday. (I wonder if my thank you note was a contributing factor? ) anyway this is where I get the job or not. Please wish me luck guys because I really need this more than ever.

One day I will face that exam.

Thanks. I will definitely keep everyone posted. The interview is with the Partner of the firm, the Accounting Services Manager, and a Consulting Services Sr. Manager. I have never been interviewed by more than one person but there's a first time for everything. It is either go big or go home and I refuse to leave empty handed.

One day I will face that exam.

That is great! I just had my third interview with a firm … which happened to be 4 interviews! The other 2 were over the phone (recruiter then sr. manager). There were four people interviewing at the same time. We were all scared it was going to be a group interview! Thank God it wasn't.

Just be yourself! Recall some of the questions the initial interviewer asked and try to expand your answers on those. The company usually has certain topics that are more important than others. You may have gotten a sense of what those are already. Think of little stories about yourself that are some-what memorable. Pick out some of your skills that are very relevant to the job you applied for and try to tie them into the conversation.

    Good Luck!

Lol thanks A scott. I believe I will do fine. I have never been interviewed by more than one person and there will be a total of three, the partner of the firm will be one attending as well.

One day I will face that exam.

It's really not that big of a deal to be interviewed by more than one person, generally I would be glad if I were you because they want all of these people to meet you but don't want to put you through several different interviews (where you inevitably have to answer the same questions over and over again.) Just try kind of talk to everyone, like you are giving a speech when you are speaking.

i interviewed for a position recently, and they brought 8 people into this tiny room, it was almost comical.
