I have the third attempt of Audit exam in 2 days and my credit is expiring this quarter. Working hard on the exam and applying for tax internship position. Today I got a rejection from mid-size CPA firm. I am so disappointed that I am neither passing FAR and Audit and not getting even a single opportunity to begin the practical experience.

@Ana I feel exactly same like you on missing out things and not being able to get through but let's keep up the good work and get out of this.

@kdcpa, I was in your shoes awhile ago. I'd say that finishing the exams and looking for a job are the top two most difficult things. But you will eventually get them (as I did). Once you achieve your goal, you wouldn't believe how great life is. It is good to be motivated and work hard to achieve your dream. Yes. I agree with the folks here that you should focus on the exams for now and think about the job search later. I am rooting for you. All the best!

@ultrarunner after learning from all of you, I feel that I need to focus on passing the exams without thinking about rejection or whether I will get a job or not. What will happen at the worst is I will not get a job for few months but at least I will have the satisfaction of having achieved the goal that I had set for myself.

I quit my job right after Oct 15th so I can focus on study.
I have been working in public accounting since the time I walked out from school, I like my job, it's great, but, I am getting reach to the point where I can't move up for better life and can't keep work and life balance.
Quit a job and study full time is risky, trust me, I have been struggling a lot, but, I believe everything will be pay off after I pass exams.
I keep telling myself, if I want to do it, then I WANT TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, I don't want to regret after 20 years and keep asking myself why I wouldn't take time off then focus on study.
Always be positive, and believe in yourself.

    Let's get it done together~

I don't recommend quitting a job just so you can study for these exams. I've known a couple people who did that and they regretted it big-time later.
Work part-time, do something. But to walk away from the working world is not a good idea. Just my $0.001. Employers do not like seeing employment gaps
and many (I'd say most) companies will not interview someone who isn't currently employed.

You might consider taking a break from the CPA process for awhile. For over a year, I divided work and studying.
I've only been working as an accountant for 3 years. Graduated with 2nd bachelors in accounting in 2014. Before that, I worked in a completely different
field. After not passing FAR, AUD, and BEC, I decided to put my studies on hold until January 2018 just to give my brain a chance to cool off.
I had a 3.9 in school, yet for some reason I haven't been able to wrap my head around these crazy tests…yet. So, if you're currently on a failing streak,
you may want to take a couple months off and create a new plan or simply give yourself a chance to unravel. Too many people, including many on this forum,
are hell-bent on passing as fast as they can and think that the sky will fall down if they aren't a senior in B4 by the time they're 26 or not earning six figures
by the time they're 30. They're not patient with themselves and a lot of them burn out very fast. Don't be like them. As someone who is a bit older, let me be the first
to brag to you about how truly LUCKY I feel that I got my second degree and am doing these CPA exams when I am. If I'd tried to do it in my 20s, by now I'd be sick and
tired of it all and although I'd probably have more money in the bank than I currently do, I'd probably be sick and tired of accounting. By the time I retire, in another
maybe 25 years, I'll have had my career in accounting that lasted about 28 years (and not like 42 years doing the same damned things every single day). And, I won't have burned out.
And, I will still have earned a lot of money, enough to take me thru the rest of my days. haha

    Best of wishes.

@CPAcheiver: Awesome idea! Love your attitude. Like you, I am also in this journey without success. Just took BEC last week. Freaked out due to different reasons & don't have hopes of passing. Moved on to AUD. Good Luck! Let's work hard & keep each other motivated!

    FAR - < than 75, 10/2013, 2/2015
    BEC - < than 75, 10/2013
    AUD - < than 75, 8/2015, 1/2016

@CPAachiever – wear your shirt loud and proud. Let your freak flag fly – who cares if it isn't cool. I gave up worrying about being cool a while ago.
