Hey everyone! I’m working on being licensed in Pennsylvania. I passed my exams in June of 2016 and started working at a public accounting firm in May of 2017. I will have my year of experience completed next week. I’ve been reading over the requirements and it’s reading like I might have an issue being licensed due to CPE requirements. It says you are exempt from the CPE requirement if you are applying within the same reporting period, i.e. 1-1-16 to 12-31-17, otherwise you need to have 80 hours of CPE to apply. Has anyone run into this issue? Do I need 80 hours of CPE to apply? Or does the CPA exam count? This reporting period just started, so I wouldn’t be able to apply until I have 80 hours, so almost to the end of 2019? This just doesn’t seem right. I have tried to contact the PA State Board of Accountancy by phone and e-mail but have had no luck in getting a response. Any help is much appreciated!!
