    Hello all,

I could use some advice on renewing my CPA license.

    Background:
    -Live in Indiana
-Work in Ohio (not in public accounting; no plans to work in Public)
-Licensed in Ohio (2nd license, currently active, up for renewal in 2019)
-Licensed in Kentucky (1st license, currently active, up for renewal in 2018)

Wondering if I should renew both Ohio and Kentucky, or if I should just stick with Ohio. I’ve heard from people that you should always keep your first license active, but I don’t see any need to since I neither work nor live in Kentucky. No sense in paying duplicate renewal fees. Both licenses are $50/year, and Ohio has slightly more difficult CPE requirements.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I personally would renew in both, because you never know.

In NYS, if you are a CPA and work with numbers/accounting in any way, NYS expects you to pay the fee and renew.
No matter if you are in public or not.
Your states may have similar rules.

Its easier to renew and fly under the radar, than to reapply at a future point in time.
