Not sure if this is where I should post this, but my god, I can’t seem to stay fully motivated for the exam. I end up slacking off and failing and it is frustrating as hell. I hope that, by keeping a detailed thread, I can stay motivated so I don’t feel like I let anyone who may follow this thread down (that sounds lame but I gotta do what I gotta do lol).

I have taken FAR twice and failed both times, with a 59 and 68, respectively. Tomorrow I go at it for a 3rd time and don’t feel super confident because I slacked off again. I have already decided that after this test tomorrow, pass or fail, I am going onto BEC. I will outline my study schedule this weekend, once I can relax a little bit.

I am using CPAExcel to study from.

    Little about me:

    24.

Work at a small accounting firm and have 3 years experience.

    Avid gamer and sports enthusiast.

Engaged to be married. No wedding date set.

So come along for the ride as I try to pass this series of exams from hell.

    FAR - 59, 68, 8/30/13
    BEC - 69
    REG - TBD
    AUD - TBD

Diable 3 comes out next week for the xbox. I'm pre-ordering it today to get the extras, but I won't play it until all of my exams are over and passed or possibly during my maternity leave in December. I already have limited study time and I know that I can spend hours on hours playing it.

Becker, Wiley Test Bank, and Ninja 10 Point Combo!

Just to chime in, I had to give up World of Warcraft for this exam… was rough but it was a long time coming. I hadn't been able to keep up with it anyway between school and my girlfriend. If I pass I probably won't be picking it back up anyway.

I like Call of Duty… what's nice is you can get on for 15min-1hour and hop off and get back to work.

My advice is to stay away from any game that draws you in too much… Sounds like Madden is kind of your WoW. Might have to tell your buddies your out of the league while you knock these tests down… Might be a bummer for this season, but having the tests would be worth it.

This thread has already been better than I imagined and I haven't even pass an exam yet! Avid gamers are abound, that's awesome!

I've been just enjoying the holiday weekend but will be getting back into my studying tomorrow. I will be studying for BEC and here is my breakdown, by day, from tomorrow until around November 9th. I am using CPAExcel.

9/3 Corporate Governance and Internal Control

9/4 Risk Management, IPPF, Attribute and Performance Standards

9/5 Microeconomics- Intro to Economic Concepts

    9/6 Market Structure

    9/18 Globalization

9/20 Business Strategy and Market Analysis

9/22 Financial Management Concepts and Tools

    9/24 Financial Valuation

    9/26 Forecasts and Trends

    9/28 Capital Budgeting

    10/28 Performance Measures and Management Techniques 1 – Inventory Mgmt/Strategic Mgmt/Competitive Analysis/Rations

    10/30 Performance Measures and Management Techniques 2 – Risk Mgmt/Performance Tools/Project Mgmt

11/1-11/7 Simulated BEC 2012 CPA Exam

I REALLY like this setup and, as sick as it sounds, am looking forward to beginning it. My plan is to follow the schedule as I have laid out and, after every 2-3 sections (there are about 3-4 subsections in each), go back and review my notes and redo the multiple choice questions for those sections. This will, hopefully, ensure that I don't forget anything.

Again, I took this test once already and got a 69 without ANY studying. I should be able to breeze through it as long as I stick to the schedule!

    BEC - 69

This thread might as well be a video game thread too, lol.

    9/17 GTA V

11/15 – PS4 comes out along with Battlefield 4. Cannot wait.

Spring 2014 – Infamous: Second Son. If you haven't played the 1st two, I HIGHLY recommend them.

    @mrsbing Congrats on the baby!

    Mother f****r.

Failed FAR again. 66 this time. Back to the drawing board.

I'm still on pace for BEC in November then Auditing in January. Time to buckle down, pass these two, and tackle FAR next summer. Along with the CPAExcel materials I will probably get the Ninja notes. I JUST NEED 9 POINTS!
