Such a peculiar exam. MCQ didn’t seem too difficult, the SIMs on the other hand. Wow. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Waiting for the score release is part of the journey, but I really want this to be over with. Hopefully the extended weekend helps take the mind of it all.

I keep hearing how bad the AUD sims are this quarter. Do you think you had enough time for them or did you feel like you were racing the clock?

I took AUD back in April (Q2) – the MCQs were straightforward and SIMs were manageable (they were kind of like FAR SIMs). I took AUD again this quarter – the MCQs were easy just like the Q2 exam, but the SIMs were less FAR-like and a lot more difficult and subjective, given that the exam is AUD, but still…they were something else.

I just sat for AUD on Tuesday and the MCQ seemed expected (I'm a Becker kid). They didn't waste much time throwing that integrated audit ramp up in.

Sims were surprisingly “pick an answer” heavy with only 1 requiring some small ratio calcs, used the AL on one or two. Not sure which one was the pretest question though, they all blended into the same level of difficulty. I wouldn't say they were difficult but they were time intensive. I had an hour left by the end so I used the AL to check and double check my last 3.

I passed audit once before right after they pushed the clarified standards through and this felt a lot like that.

I took AUD in Q1 and yes SIMs were bad then too, I would have passed though had I looked at the sample AICPA exam. Because the SIMs on AICPA were a good indicator. Will be re-taking AUD in Q4.

It sounds like we all had a similar experience. MCQs were fine, but those SIMs were a different story. They didn't appear to be hard upon first opening the testlet and skimming over the task, but when it came to making the answer choices from the lists, it seemed like 3-4 of the answers could have been correct on all of my SIMs. Very subjective. I ended the test with plenty of time left over, though.
