Had laptop bag and travel documents stolen which will not be replaced in time by May so I wont be able to travel to US in time to test.

Why allow a test score to expire in June if you cant test during that month?

Unless a prometric center extends testing dates (usually due to weather), you will not be able to test until July.

@ Ninja Juice, that is super frustrating!

Do you even have a NST to sit? I am assuming you do … you can sit in another state (where weather might have extended the testing window, if that has happened) for your state. That would be pretty drastic, but it is possible.

@MaLoTu that sounds tempting, however I will have to incur ticket price to fly to states in hoped that it happens lol plus it seems like too much of a gamble because I wouldnt know in enough time to switch tickets/exam date to June.

This cpa journey has just been a battle..if I can sit in June and pass id be done! but now If i dont pass I will have to redo 2 parts! after 2 years i dunno..may call it quits

It might be worth it to contact NASBA, explain what happened, submit the police report and explain how you have to travel to take the test – they may extend the NTS for you.

cpa565 I did that and they said I would have to complete all parts and then they will consider if the expired credit can be extended……

So really..unless there is a June testing center somewhere and I know atleast a week in advance..seems like I have to bite the bullet

I think it is super lame that NASBA counts closed months in the six months. There is a lot of lame stuff with how NASBA works but that is one of the stupidest. You only get to use it for six months and it possible that two of those months won't even be available. I doubt if you will find a place open in June. Weather related prometric open in a closed month is usually do to snow and all though my home state of Minnesota snows nine months out of the year, June is usually not one of them!

An exam expiring in June of 2015 was taken in either October or November of 2013 since December 2013(18 months prior to June) was also a blackout month. For simplicity's sake they put the last day of that particular window but knowing that there is an 18 month window if you went from the date you sat for your expiring exam, there is no possible way it literally expires in June. If anything by being able to test until May 31 you're getting EXTRA time over and above the 18 months. You absolutely haven't lost anything.

For the last few years when Prometric extends a test window, it does so for everybody. Hasn't been state specific in a good 3 years.

Bummer that happened to you but the 18 month rule shows no mercy.

sorry to hear that Ninja Juice. Maybe (and I know it's not like you haven't thought about it already) try to have your documents expedited and find something on May 30th? (maybe the 31st but that's a Sunday)
