    Hello all,

    I am pretty paranoid right now, and did not know how much information I was getting into before I spend all of the money on review and application fees.

    The situation is this- I plan on studying for 8 weeks straight, about 12 hours a day. This gives us about 650 hours (taking out the days where I actually go take the exam, and I do not plan on studying after taking the exam on the same day….)

    I just want to know from those of you who have passed- is it doable to pass all FOUR parts in these time given? I already schedule my exams, and my education background was in accounting with pretty good grades.

    (also, the time includes watching videos and lectures.)

    Just want to have a realistic expectation.

    Thanks!

    There is no talent involved in passing the CPA exam. It's ridiculous to think that. The CPA exam Is not an IQ test. If OP commits to that study schedule, I think OP has a great shot. Remember you don't need to ace the exam to pass, you just need a 75.

    mw798, there is no talent? lol, I would say someone is very talented and smart if they can pass all 4 parts in 8 weeks. That will put him in the top 5%, so he or she could have majored in a more challenging career. I have not seen many Accountants doing this in 8 weeks. How long did it take you? I hope your answer is 7 weeks. By the way, the following is the definition for the word talent in case you did not know=

    a capacity for achievement or success; ability:

    Through God all things can happen!

    “You never fail until you stop trying.”
    ― Albert Einstein
    When I was young, I used to admire intelligent people;as I grow older, I admire kind people.
    “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.”

    FAR= 72-84
    Audit= 73-82
    BEC= 74-75
    Reg=77

    I did not know good looking people were considered talented=

    Other definitions=

    : a special ability that allows someone to do something well

    : a person or group of people with a special ability to do something well : a talented person or group

    : people who are sexually attractive

    Through God all things can happen!

    The person I know who passed in 2 months is a very average guy who just spent a good portion of his time studying. And passing doesn't mean acing, it just means a getting a C+. I also know another person who passed AUD and REG by studying hardcore for a bit over a week and a half for each exam and this person is not extrodinary either. Just have to buckle down and study.

    LOL. love the comments “can I do this in one window or can I do this while doing that” …. Can not be answered my friend… How in the name of God can people who do not know you give you this advice. They can inform you of how Mary John and Bob did this and that but at the end of the day nobody can tell you what you can and cannot do or what you are capable of doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    my .02 on the talent comment. An average or slightly below average student who REALLY REALLY DIGS down and puts the effort in could do this, while the whiz kid who puts in their usual level of effort may not.

    How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice…….same thing applies to CPA exams as orchestra musicians. Effort can more than compensate for a lack of natural ability.

    No I am sure Taylor passed them all on his first try while his soccer mom was doing his laundry and cooking his meals for him. Also believes in Santa and the Tooth Fairy. Much too smart for a pyramid scheme, or maybe his parents stopped his allowance. Either way, THIS soccer mom was done in < 1 year, in 7 tries and has been around long enough to see the folks who took 15 tries still get the same license as those who took 4 tries. And my time management skills would leave most twenty somethings in need of a change of pants.

    I can't believe all the comments on how possible it is to pass all sections within 8 weeks.. Yes it is possible but very highly unlikely unless you have a very strong foundation in all areas + you are very very smart… Now how common is that? It's pretty uncommon.. My believe is that the CPA exams are more of a disciplinary process where it is specifically designed to fail you if you study the night before (or the week before).. While it's possible that you pass either AUD and BEC in one week preparation each, with full time studying schedule (you wake up studying and go to bed studying, how hell will that be lol)… It's impossible to pass FAR and REG in the same 2 months you pass BEC and AUD… It's just not gonna happen.. I don't want to sound too sure, but my reason does not accept that..

    If you do it, you'll go to exams unprepared and you'll fail (you might remotely pass tho) . Failing isn't good, and it might discourage you.

    I am not saying you'll fail, but my comment is for everyone… I know a couple of very smart people who attempted that and they failed at least 3 sections before they pass the second time…

    For the record, I passed each exam with approximately 1 month of study time each and I am pretty sure I could have studied much less and passed as evidenced by my scores (AUD 96, BEC 92, FAR 94, REG 90) showing I probably studied too much. And I was working full time during this.

    These exams aren't rocket science folks. They are just the bare basic litmus test of seeing if you have what it takes to be credible accountant. You won't find complex calculations and equations needed for this exam; it's the bare basics. If these exams were that difficult they wouldn't attract such a wide mix of candidates.

    As can be seen, I knew I would offend people and some are indeed offended, but that's the truth.

    @lilyjin0906 Go for it. I'm rooting for you and I think you have a realistic shot. Don't let the Debbie Downers rain on your parade. Let us know how you do.

    Taylor, I don't know if you offended anyone as much as you made yourself look like an ass. No one is saying that it cannot be done, but it isn't likely … if you are SO smart you should realize that. It is Statistics 101 type stuff. I also encourage the OP to take the test if they feel confident that it is the right choice for them. However, there are many credible reasons in this thread why it isn't a good idea. More than half the people who take the test every window fail … the OP is putting themselves at great odds.

    BTW- I am certain that more people taking the exam than not went to more traditional schools. Your assertion about DeVry or any other similar institution is absurd and you have a lot of growing up to do.

    Taylor, look……..For AUD during study I scored mid 90s on SIMS and MC doing the questions twice at least. I scored high 90s on the rehearsal exam. I read most of the book and memorized reports etc… I scored 69 on the real exam….. Failed because of SIMs……There is no material in the market that will prepare you for SIMS…. Many people say this.

    I am totally not offended of how you chose to express your opinion of the exam, I dont know you, you could be an old man sitting at home bored so decided to join the forum or you could be a teenager wasting time…you were however trying to offend people because you said “Now I probably offended some you” …. MLA and I were just being funny and sarcastic. Also I am/was procrastinating lol should be studying right now (but you probably would not know what procrastination is as you are the king of time management). I have had conversations on this forum with people who did better then you on the exam and they were humbled in talking about their achievements and giving constructive advice for others without offending (or trying to offend) anyone. It was a pleasure speaking with them.

    Its not common for someone to pass all 4 exams in one window, it has been done…. Ultimately, nobody can really advice this individual if he/she can or cannot…….. He/she can try…why not???!!!!
