After studying REG and the IRC I’m wondering if the NCAA is in violation of 501(c)3 of the IRC. The section states that a Tax Exempt Organization can’t attempt to influence legislation. Since the NCAA has removed all NCAA activities from NC and threatening to do so for the future unless they change the legislation known has HB2, isn’t this considered influencing legislation? If found in violation is is grounds for removal of their tax exempt status? Just curious as to others opinion just on the possible violation of the IRC.
