Stick to a study schedule. When I get home from work and am tired, instead of watching tv or going to bed early, I know I have to stick to my study schedule which means studying 1-2 hours/day during the week. This is a manageable amount of time to devote while working a full-time job. A majority of my studying is done one the weekends when I am not so tired and have much more time….especially during this busy audit season.

    Goodluck!

    FAR - 70, 73, 71, 81!
    REG - 71, 64, 70, 85!
    AUD - 64, 4/15

When you get a question wrong, make sure you completely understand why that answer is wrong and why the correct answer is right. Also, if you find yourself nodding off while studying-this NEVER happens to me;)-Don't quit, just get up and walk around for a minute and get right back to it. Gets the blood pumping.

    BEC - 69,77(exp), 77
    REG - 65,60,79(exp),73,79 DONE!!
    AUD - 50,71,68,69,73,87!
    FAR - 57,59,74,72,66,76!

Best advice I have right now for CPA candidates/accounting related professionals/people just plain out looking for a new career/job?!?!? IMPROVE YOUR PRESENCE ON LINKEDIN!!!! I think the power of LinkedIn is to an extent very under appreciated. For those of you out there who have yet to utilize this FREE networking device all you need to do is post your credentials, education, experience and connect with classmates/alumni/current and former co-workers and it can go a long way for your career!!! For example, in the past 2 months alone I have had recruiters from 4 different companies reach out to me and extend invitations to informal phone interviews (which is awesome btw!). Get online, get active, and get noticed. Happy job hunting/networking/CPA studying!!

Best study tip….remain committed to your schedule. Figure out what time of the day works best for your study time and set that as a rule but be flexible. There is always time for other things after the exam. Studying and passing the exam is a short period of time (hopefully) in your life and will benefit you and your family well into the future.

As I'm sure other have said, practice the multiple choice questions until it hurts your brain, and then do some more. When I took AUD and FAR, I had practiced the questions so much that I averaged 30 seconds a question on exam day, with a few hours left for the SIMs, and left over an hour early on both exams. After running through practice questions enough times, you'll start to recognize what the type of question is they're asking.

    FAR - 12/6/13
    AUD - 1/11/14
    REG - TBD
    BEC - TBD

My best study tip is to manage your time wisely! Every minute of down time that you have should be study time especially if you are on a busy schedule. Make a schedule of your daily routine and plan out when you can study and stick with this plan! Good luck everyone!

My study tip: Be all in or don't start! Be prepared to ride the lightning (Metallica plug)! I was not committed to being a CPA when I first attempted AUD (66,73 both times stronger in every category M/C but weaker in sims?!?!) and then told myself what are you doing?! I decided to attempt REG and received a 77! I went all in for BEC (awaiting score 24 Feb) and I am expecting to blow it out of the water, 75!! Anything more is overkill since everyone's license will be printed on the same paper – it will not be gold plated with platinum stars – this is a pass or fail exam! I am starting up AUD again on Sunday and have already laid out an all in plan. To quote the great John Elway “There is no plan B!”.

My Tip: Study hard but remember to be relax and take it step by step… Don't rush or put too much pressure on yourself while studying or taking the exams.
