My best tip is listening to the Film Scores station on Pandora while doing MCQs. It's not really anything I can sing along to but it keeps that other part of my brain busy that would otherwise be thinking about Facebook, Pinterest, etc. I get way more done and find I focus better and for longer while I listen.

Tomorrow becomes never! Don't put things off and think you will be able to do it later. Make a plan of what you need to get it done and stick to it.

Take time for yourself and your family. If you are constantly in study, work, school, whatever mode, you will burn out, get discouraged and probably quit. Don't neglect yourself or your family. Plan for balance.

My best advice for the CPA exam is to physically write out a schedule. And leave yourself plenty of time for review! If you have problems with chapters along the way, focus on them until you are comfortable (receiving 70's consistently on hw). Never get down on yourself when you miss questions or do poorly on homework. It's better to make the mistakes now and learn from them than to make those mistakes on exam day.

Make your studying time a priority. Motivation is also key, when you study make it count, really focus and learn the information.

The best tip I can think of is: when doing Multiple choice questions QUALITY over quantity. It is much more advantageous to go over 10-20 questions and understand the right answer while adding the explanations to your notes, rather than to go through 50-100 questions fast and not fully understand the right (and wrong answers).

    AUD - 82
    REG - 83
    BEC - 79

It's a good idea to give yourself one and a half to two weeks of review time before heading in to take an exam. That's the time when you can wrap everything up and memorize those little tricks that your brain used to understand a topic. I am half way done with my journey but I am on a two month break for busy season even though I really just want to keep going!

    REG – 85

    AUD – 81

    BEC – Jul 2014
