First you have to ask yourself if you are willing to put your life on hold until you pass the exam. Passing this exam definitely requires a huge commitment! Then once you commit to take the exam, set up a study schedule and STICK TO IT. Make the most of your time, carry flashcards with you at all times. A few minutes here and there help. I have an app on my phone, computer and tablet, so study material is always available. Study, Study and more Studying.

I have this posted on my computer:

    Best advice I can give:

Don't get into a car accident. Needing to shop around for a new car takes valuable time away from studying. Plus it's distracting.

Currently trying to get back into the studying groove after totaling my Sentra.

My study tip: Use every format of the information available to you. I use the self study book, my notes, flashcards, NINJA audio, notes, flashcards, and BLITZ. If you do this, all the information begins to fit together like pieces of a puzzle.

The best study tip I can give is to not give up on yourself, even when it feels like you are not getting it. Sometimes i will study that same topic every day for 25 minutes and then move on, and eventually on day 7, it clicks!!! Be persistent, and patient with yourself all at the same time. I loved Jeff's quote the other day that i read, “failure is an event, not a person”. This is something I personally need to remember.

    Good luck!

Work those MCQs. Work them over and over and over again. When you get a question wrong read the text reference Wiley offers.

Accounting career..Please do not lie on your resume that you are expert in Excel when actually you are not. I have hired several people, those candidates lie on their resume (especially on pviottable) I ended up let it them go..

Best exam tip…..I can't say because I've taken two and failed two! I'm hanging in there though and I'm currently studying for my second attempt at Auditing. The 2nd time around seems to be making a little more sense and things are beginning to “click” more. I'm taking Jeff's advice and I'm watching all the videos first and I'll go back and work mcq's like crazy. Fingers crossed this does the trick!!!

CPA study tip: Reward yourself once you have accomplished your study goals for the week. IF I study for 20 hours during the week I can go out to a social event on Saturday for 2-4 hours or spend the evening with my family. This strategy will help you feel like you deserve to have a little bit of free time instead of feeling guilty every time you hangout out with your love ones. Be very strict with yourself you didn't study 20 hours no social event. : (
