Best tip I have is to be almost through your study program before you register for the exam. It costs a little more in registration fees (multiple vs 1 application with the state) but is so worth it. That way when test day comes you are ready and not freaking out or trying to reach an unattainable deadline.

My advice for preparing for the CPA Exam is to study at every available time you have. At times it may seem frustrating, but remember your goals and keep pushing. Reserve at least 1 day of the week to family or relaxation and jump back in.

The best strategy for studying that I can give would be to create a schedule and stick with it. I just started studying in December and decided to go this route and it has worked thus far.

My advice for all the cpa takers out there…try to plan your study for the exam 4-5 weeks before the exam with the last week being review..if you start studying 8 months in advance you will forget some of little details that they test on.

What's working best for me is to divide up my study time into 1 hour chunks. I'm not as organized as Jeff, so I never know when I can study. So knowing I have an hour here and there I can just insert the next hour's agenda in at any time.

    Unsolicited Advice:

Keep focused. You can't study, browse the internet, email, and text all at the same time. One of them has to be cut, and if it's a choice between studying to pass or your social life – well, that's your call to make.

    Good Luck to All!

I took the CPA exams right after my undergraduate years. Had 2 months before my work started and ended up passing 1 part. Passed the other 3 parts within 7 months of starting. My advice for all people taking it right after college: Start studying as soon as you can, try knocking out at least 1 or 2 parts in the summer before work starts. I got lucky and had some unassigned time at work so I was able to study, but many of my friends have had no time to study so make sure you get out as much as you can before work starts. I used Becker materials to prepare and then used the Ninja notes as a final review before the exam. The sims on the real exam are nothing like Becker sims. When in doubt, put “0” as the answer on the sims. If you fail an exam, take it again right away. Good luck!!

My best study tip is to start early and take plenty of breaks. I find I am way less stressed by simply not feeling rushed. I also seem to remember things better since I'm not thinking about other things while studying, because once I notice my mind starting to wander that's when I decide it's time to take a break.
