My study tip is to work as many questions as possible including the simulations. Just reading the material is not enough.

Give yourself ample time to review each week and then do a final review at the end of your study course to nail the topics. Reworking MCQ's is always the best – I've had several repetitions on my exam.

Making a study plan is a must! If you deviate, you will know how far behind you will be so it keeps you disciplined and focused. Make time to study. Read flashcards or notes when you have free time, instead of checking facebook or browsing the internet.

My study exam tip is to write out on paper your study plan and tell at least one person so that they may hold you accountable.

    FAR: April or May 2014
    AUD:
    REG:
    BEC:
    Scared: 100

FAR first and only attempt: 2014 Wiley textbook, 10 Pt Combo, and WTB

I only get one try to have to give it my all and try to get 75 on my first go around.

-The only thing that stands between you and what you want out of life is the will to try and the faith to believe it's possible.

My biggest tip works for both the CPA exam and a career. Don't forget to have fun. I think this is a downfall of many accounting students. Work and studying are important and serious matters, but loosen up, laugh and make sure you are happy. That has been the thing that has kept me successful.

My best advice would be to set REALISTIC daily goals as well as weekly goals. This, for me anyways, involves relatively detailed written plans on what I want to get through. Preparation is everything. It can feel overwhelming to face all 10 chapters looming in front of you. This way if you get through everything you planned to, you can meet goals and feel a sense of accomplishment at each checkpoint. Also, don't forget to schedule some “ME” time in there for your own sanity!

I think the best study tip for the cpa is to simply continue to go through the chapters. My study habits include studying for chapter 1, then moving to chapter 2, going back to ch 1, ch2 and then starting 3, and then continuing this process. This constant reworking of the material has given me great success!! Good luck and keep working hard!

Best study tip I can give is not to procrastinate and to stick to your study schedule. I used to always find excuses why I can watch just one more TV show tonight after work, and then tomorrow, and then the day after that. By the time I m done eating supper, relaxing in front of the TV, catching up on facebook news, it is already 9pm. I felt so tired after that, my head was hurting, and I could only study for couple of hours while trying to fight sleepiness. And I can tell you those were not the most productive 2 hours. And during the weekend I would find to do something else around the house that needs to be done, and spend only about 4-5 hours studying each day at most. Of course, everyone needs some time off, and some time to relax from studying and working, but I think I overdid it.

I noticed I studied for some of my tests over 3 months, even though I could have done it much faster if I stuck to my study schedule. Imagine you are in school and have deadlines. Make goals for every week, and try to accomplish them.
