My tip to everyone (including myself) is to diversify your study sources and practice tests. I used Becker on my first attempt at Auditing and got to a point where I was just memorizing the questions they provided. When it came to the actual test, there were a few questions that just threw me completely off guard. Like the content was in another language to me.

Also, when you're preparing for a test, try to refrain from meeting friends for drinks so often!

    Good Luck Everyone!

My study tip is to do MCs MCs MCs!

Do as many as you can. Right or wrong, read the answer choices to determine the reasoning and this will help you learn the concepts.

Best tips I can give is to get yourself some NINJA Notes and then spend some time with those and the Wiley for about 15-20 hours a week. Don't get burned out and find something you enjoy doing when you need a break. Set clear goals and work towards them… if you work hard enough you WILL succeed. Good luck everyone!

I would say the best exam tip I would have would be to set yourself a schedule and goals in order to have certain chapters done and reviewed. Also give yourself 5 days before the exam to review and relax so you are not craming everything in, you will not pass this way !

My best advice is to keep plugging away. After taking the first exam thinking I completely bombed it I almost threw in the towel. Then I received a 74 and new it was possible to pass. The hardest part about the exam is not the studying or the actual material but the mental drain it takes on a person not knowing what questions they will receive and how much they actually need to know to pass! Also, knowing if/when you fail a section there is a wait up to 60 days until the next chance to pass. Good Luck All!

    FAR - 84 7/13
    BEC - 77 8/13
    AUD - 82 12/13
    REG - 78 5/28

The best advice I have been given is to have a study try and stick with it and be persistent. And if you fail a section remember that failure is a far greater teacher than success. But when you succeed knowingly failure makes the success much sweeter.

    Hey all,

Everyone has really great suggestions! The thing that is helping me stay focused on studying right now is waking up 2 hours earlier than normal. I know it sounds awful; I am not a morning person either. However, I drag myself out of bed, do a Jillian Michael's work out video (because it is a good work out and only 20 minutes long), shower, and sit down to the CPA.

Utilize whatever is going to get you awake and clear your mind before sitting down and cranking out those multiple choice. I find that I am less likely to wander on to Facebook or check my emails that early in the morning 😛
