    Hey NINJAs,

Are you tired of reading either the Wiley or Becker review books? But afraid you might miss something from 1000s of pages, convert the pdf into text or word files, transfer it to your smart phones and use one of those text – to – speech apps such as Polaris or OfficeSuit. Let the app read the text out loud to you while jogging, walking, working, driving etc… At least, you do not have to sit there and read it. But feel good that you read it. This helped me through college with long readings. I thought it might help you passing your CPA exam. Good luck.

My tip is for someone just starting out with their career. Even if you have an accounting degree and have passed 3 of the CPA exams do not going into a job thinking that you know everything or even enough, because most likely you don't, and your boss will not only know that but expect you to be an empty slate. Also, in the interview process do not claim that you know more than you know because your employer will bombard you with things you are unfamiliar with and then he or she will find out rather quickly that you aren't as good as you claimed.

Remember, your boss was once in your shoes; as they had to learn from their boss, you too must learn from them.

“Keep your eyes open and ears tuned in the office and ALWAYS ask questions”

    CPA Exam Tip:

My tip is to find a stress relieving activity and do it at least once a week. Go on a bike ride, run, spend time with your kids, anything that will take your mind off of the exam for a few hours. Everyone tries to study as much as possible but without breaks you'll burn out and reach a point where you're just staring at a book and not actually learning anymore.

    Take breaks!

Create a study plan and set a goal for each week. Don't give yourself excuses.

My best advise for studying for the CPA Exam: BUY THE NINJA AUDIO! I listen to it when I am in the car driving to work and while I am in work as background noise. You might think that having the NINJA AUDIO playing in the background while working sound bananas, but it works! Also MCQs like there is no tomorrow!

My best advise for on the job: Don't work for friends. I have seen so many people that have a hard time separating work from friendship and many friendship destroyed over it.

Good Luck to Everyone taking the CPA Exam and in this contest. =)

My best tip would be to be realistic on how you study. Not everyone gets the material the same way. Make lists of important ideas, listed to audio files, copy notes over and over, or do MCQ till you are blue in the face. Figure out what works for you and stick with it.

As a mother of 3 and full time accountant, and 3/4 a CPA…the best tip I can give anyone is to study as much as you can. Understand the material, hammer the multiple choice questions and rewrite rewrite rewrite ALL of your notes. I teach my kids and fiancé accounting as well. It helps me understand the material when I have to try to break it down in simple terms for them.
