My tip to prepare for the CPA exam is doing MCQ's, after doing MCQ's, ensure you UNDERSTAND the reason for the incorrect and correct answer. Create charts with topics to compare topics and document similarities and differences. Go back to prior topics if you find yourself reading about a topic already studied. Create a recap before you continue on the new topic and take the last two weeks before the exam for review all significant doubts.

NEVER GIVE UP!!! Write down on you study desk or your bedroom wall I'm going to be a CPA.

My study tip, which has probably been posted, is to star or indicate MCQs you are making educated guesses on! That way if you guess correctly you still have a reminder to read why you got it right and to re-do the question again even though you got it right (because you only got it right because of a guess). Also, don't be afraid or worried that you're getting a lot of questions wrong, it's better to miss them in practice and learn from your mistakes then it is to to get it wrong on the test.

Remember! Studying sucks, but failing sucks a whole lot more!

    Exam Tip: Stay organized

Obviously you must put the time in if you want to pass, but staying organized will help when it comes to the crucial last week of review before your exam and you can easily sort through all of your material. It helps to be more efficient and effective with your time which is essential on your final week before the exam.

For busy season, because I am studying and working I often find it hard to balance eating healthy or even home prepared meals. I love to cook and bake, so these are my few moments to de-stress during the busy work and study day – it is totally possible to fit in a healthy meal everyday of the week. To do so, I take Sundays to do my grocery shopping, which I plan ahead for what I want to eat that week. As soon as I get home, I wash, cut, chop, package and prep anything that I can. This makes it much easier to throw your meal together in the evenings – I often do things I can throw together in the oven and bake so that I can study while it bakes. I make my breakfasts and lunches ahead of time and put them in separate containers in the fridge so I can grab and go. I eat two of my three meals in my office everyday. Hope this is helpful!

My study tip is to do MCQ's. Do as many of them as you go, the more the better. Also, it is helpful for me to study on my laptop vs desktop computer. I am able to study on our back porch on a nice day or in a nice comfy chair in our living room. I just feel that I retain more if I am more comfortable then sitting in a computer desk chair.

My best advice is set a plan and stick to it. Schedule your test right away and don't change it. Set your schedule based on that test date and don't deviate. Have someone to hold you accountable to that schedule. I am able to study with a coworker who takes the tests the same day that I do and that really helps keep me on track.

Before I start reviewing a section, I like to do a “pre-test” of the section by answering questions about the topic to be covered. Even if I get all the answers wrong, it helps engage my mind on the material and understand what kinds of questions might be asked about the topic. It makes the actual study of the topic more intriguing.

The best advice I can give for studying is to remember that even the smartest accountants don't usually pass the exam on the first try. If you give yourself enough time per part and focus only on the part you are taking, you have a great shot at passing. If you don't pass, DON'T worry about it!! Most of us are right there with you!
